We are seeking a Systems Engineer to join a high-impact engineering team responsible for building scalable systems that detect, process, and respond to platform abuse at scale. This role focuses on developing solutions that support abuse detection, mitigation, and legal response workflows across large-scale internet platforms. The ideal candidate will be experienced in designing distributed systems and building robust, high-performance applications that support security and compliance initiatives. Key Responsibilities • Design, develop, deploy, and scale distributed tools and services that support abuse detection, mitigation, and legal response workflows. • Build and maintain data pipelines and backend services that collect, analyze, and act on abuse signals at scale. • Extend and maintain mission-critical Trust & Safety and compliance systems, including abuse scanning and monitoring tools. • Collaborate closely with Threat Operations, Trust & Safety, Legal, and Product teams to translate complex legal and security requirements into scalable technical solutions. • Improve system architecture, reliability, performance, and maintainability for internal and customer-facing compliance and security services. • Contribute to operational excellence by improving monitoring, observability, and reliability of production systems. • Write well-tested, modular, and reusable code following software engineering best practices. • Participate in technical design discussions, architecture planning, and project execution. Required Skills & Experience • Strong experience building distributed systems and backend services. • Proficiency in Go and/or TypeScript. • Hands-on experience with data pipelines and event-driven architectures. • Experience working with technologies such as Kafka, Redis, PostgreSQL, Kubernetes, Terraform, and Temporal. • Experience developing and operating cloud-native applications. • Strong understanding of system design, scalability, performance optimization, and observability. • Ability to translate security, compliance, and legal requirements into scalable engineering solutions.
