Job Title: DevSecOps Engineer (Contingent Upon Award) Hiring Company: Diligent Consulting Inc. Client: Government Publishing Office (GPO) Location: Washington, D.C. (Hybrid/On-site) Remote Requirement: Must reside within commuting distance of GPO HQ in Washington, D.C. for monthly and ad hoc in-person meetings Clearance: Public Trust or ability to obtain (higher clearance may be required) Estimated Period of Performance: September 1, 2025 – September 30, 2029 Overview: This position is contingent upon contract award. Join our mission to modernize federal cybersecurity! Diligent Consulting Inc. is seeking a highly motivated DevSecOps Engineer to support the Government Publishing Office (GPO) under its forward-leaning SecDevOps Program. This program is focused on strengthening GPO’s cybersecurity posture through the adoption of Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA), secure DevOps practices, and CI/CD automation aligned with federal compliance frameworks. This position is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining infrastructure automation and secure deployment pipelines to ensure that platform components meet Technical Reference Model (TRM), RMF, and ZTA compliance standards. Key Responsibilities: Design and manage Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using Terraform and Ansible to automate provisioning and configuration. Maintain secure operating system baselines (e.g., Red Hat, Windows) and ensure compliance with STIG and CIS benchmarks. Deploy and configure TRM-approved security and monitoring tools in both cloud and on-prem hybrid environments. Support CI/CD pipelines, including containerized deployment workflows and secure integration points. Collaborate with security, operations, and development teams to enforce secure configurations and automate compliance validation. Ensure platform readiness for continuous monitoring, vulnerability scanning, and incident response. Provide technical documentation and automation support for audits, assessments, and RMF-related requirements. Minimum Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field. Substitution: Two additional years of relevant experience may substitute for the degree if accompanied by a relevant certification. Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience in systems engineering, cloud operations, or DevSecOps roles. Proven experience implementing platform-level automation and maintaining secure hybrid infrastructure environments. Preferred Certifications: Security-focused: Security+, DevSecOps Foundation (e.g., from DevOps Institute), or equivalent Platform/DevOps-specific: RHCSA (Red Hat Certified System Administrator) AWS Certified SysOps Administrator Azure Administrator Associate HashiCorp Terraform Associate Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) GitLab Certified CI/CD Specialist Other Requirements: U.S. Citizenship required Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance (higher clearance may be required) Must live within commuting distance of Washington, D.C. for in-person activities Why Join Diligent?
