Company Description Digital Defenders Inc. is a nonprofit organization dedicated to educating youth about internet safety. Through engaging school presentations, interactive online programs, impactful community workshops, and outreach events, we empower children to navigate and address the challenges of the digital world. Our mission is rooted in equipping the next generation with the tools and knowledge to stay safe online. Program Overview The Digital Defenders Internship Program is a 10-week, project-based experience designed to give students hands-on exposure to nonprofit work, cybersecurity education, and community engagement. Depending on the role, interns will support the development of digital education campaigns, create and implement communication strategies, or assist with digital marketing efforts to raise awareness about internet safety. Interns will contribute meaningfully to real initiatives while developing professional, technical, and communication skills. What Interns Receive • Hands-on experience with a growing nonprofit • Weekly mentorship and check-in meetings • Resume-worthy projects and deliverables • Exposure to cybersecurity education and digital safety advocacy • Letter of recommendation upon successful completion • Flexible schedule (designed for students) Qualifications • Current high school/college student or recent graduate located in Massachusetts or Connecticut. • Majoring or interested in Communications, Journalism, Education, etc. • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines. • Proficiency in relevant digital tools and platforms is a plus. • Enthusiasm for working in a nonprofit organization with a mission-driven culture! Time Commitments • 5–10 hours/week • 10-week program • Flexible, student-friendly schedule Available Internship Tracks Applicants may indicate their preferred track(s) when applying. 1.) Social Media & Digital Engagement Intern The Social Media & Digital Engagement Intern supports Digital Defenders’ online presence by creating educational, engaging content that promotes cybersecurity awareness, events, and youth-focused digital safety messaging. 2.) Content & Educational Communications Intern The Content & Educational Communications Intern develops written content that supports Digital Defenders’ mission through blogs, educational articles, and resource-based writing focused on cybersecurity, digital safety, and youth empowerment. 3.) Program Development & Curriculum Intern The Program Development & Curriculum Intern assists in designing and improving Digital Defenders’ educational programming. This includes workshop outlines, lesson plans, and activities tailored to different age groups and learning environments. We are seeking enthusiastic individuals for our Internship Program. Key responsibilities include conducting research, assisting with content creation, presenting educational materials to audiences, and coordinating outreach efforts. This is a part-time, unpaid, remote internship for high school and college students based in Massachusetts or Connecticut only.
