As the Supply Chain Data Science & Optimization Manager, you will lead the transformation of our global supply chain through advanced analytics, predictive modeling, and data-driven decision-making. This role bridges supply chain strategy and data science, enabling smarter demand planning with ERP optimization. You will apply statistical, machine learning, and optimization techniques to improve forecast accuracy, optimize inventory and logistics networks, and identify cost and efficiency opportunities across global operations. Your mission is to embed data science into every aspect of supply chain management — from material planning to sustainability — delivering actionable insights that drive measurable business impact. Location: 100% Onsite – Houston, TX Key Responsibilities 1. Predictive Supply & Demand Analytics • Develop and implement statistical and machine learning models to forecast global demand and optimize production schedules. • Design data pipelines and dashboards to automate demand and supply visibility across global business units. • Integrate external market, customer, and supplier data to improve forecasting accuracy and scenario planning. 2. Inventory & Material Optimization • Build predictive inventory models and simulation tools to minimize stockouts, overstock, and obsolescence. • Apply data-driven Root Cause & Capacity Planning analysis to balance material availability, lead time, and working capital. • Use advanced analytics to recommend safety stock levels and reorder points based on demand variability and service targets. • Oversee the production scheduling, procurement, storage, and usage of raw materials to ensure they meet production needs and minimize waste. • Collaborate with suppliers and internal branches to ensure the timely delivery of materials, maintain quality standards, and negotiate favorable terms. 3. Supply Chain Performance & ERP Analytics • Lead ERP transformation initiatives with a focus on data integrity, analytics integration, and predictive KPI monitoring. • Develop custom dashboards and KPI frameworks (service level, on-time delivery, cost-to-serve, forecast bias) using Power BI. • Partner with IT and operations to create data governance and automation processes that enhance decision-making speed and accuracy. 4. Logistics & Sustainability Modeling • Conduct optimization modeling to minimize transportation cost and carbon footprint while maintaining service levels. • Evaluate distribution flows using linear optimization, clustering, and geospatial analytics. • Measure sustainability performance (waste, scrap, emissions) and recommend process changes using data-based simulations and predictive insights. 5. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Leadership • Translate analytical findings into actionable insights for procurement, production, finance, and commercial teams. • Mentor team members on analytics tools and methodologies, fostering a data-driven culture within the supply chain organization. • Present executive-level visualizations and insights that guide strategic planning and continuous improvement initiatives. Qualifications • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Supply Chain Management, Statistics, Industrial Engineering, or Operations Research. • 8+ years of experience in global demand planning, SIOP processes, and ERP software. • Strong knowledge of supply chain analytics. • Proven experience in collaborating with cross-functional teams and driving operational efficiency. • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. • Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills. • Proficient in the use of enterprise resource planning (ERP) software, supply chain management tools, visual optimization tools, and Microsoft Office Suite. • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively. Preferred Skills • Experience with machine learning operations (MLOps) for productionizing supply chain models. • Familiarity with Syspro ERP, CRM systems, and API-based data integration. • Certifications in Lean Six Sigma, Supply Chain Analytics, or Data Engineering. • Familiarity with customer relationship management (CRM) systems and sales operation tools. • Experience in SKU rationalization and inventory optimization.
