OVERVIEW: The Systems Engineer II - Storage will install and maintain storage devices in the data centers. Present storage to our vast number of servers. Perform capacity planning with product teams to assure there is enough storage per server. Troubleshoot any storage issues that might occur. Work with third party to maintain the storage devices in our three data centers. Storage Technologies A strong knowledge of Storage technologies should include devices from major storage vendors. Our mixture of storage technologies includes but is not limited to IBM and HPE Nimble. A knowledge of Rubrik backup solutions and cloud/hybrid storage technology is a plus. Storage Maintenance Monitor, identify, and correct moderately complex storage defects to maintain fully functioning storage, with limited supervision from others. Ability to work with third party maintenance companies. Collaboration Ability to work independently and with other groups to provide capacity planning and work with our backup and disaster recovery group. Ability to document and create dashboards to monitor storage usage. Hardware Maintenance Monitor, identify, and correct straightforward hardware defects to maintain fully functioning hardware. Strategic Mindset Ability to roadmap the future of Dick’s Sporting Goods storage capabilities. This could include moving to the cloud. This includes meeting with vendors and presenting the most cost-effective solutions for the company. Faults Diagnosis and Correction Provide fault isolation and resolution to limit and address issues promptly. Program/Portfolio Management Support Understand how to work within an established program management plan to achieve specific goals. Ongoing Learning and Development Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching; gain or maintain external professional accreditation where relevant to improve performance and fulfill personal potential. Maintain an understanding of relevant technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education, attending conferences, and reading specialist media. This is part of a competitive total rewards package that could include other components such as: incentive, equity and benefits.
