Mechanical Construction Estimator Location: Bay Area, CA Employment Type: Full-Time Join a Mechanical Contractor That’s Actually Growing. If you’re an estimator who knows how to turn takeoffs into strategy, build accurate budgets, and partner with operations to win work—not just chase it—this is the role you’ve been looking for. We’re representing a respected mechanical subcontractor known for delivering complex HVAC, piping, and plumbing scopes on time and with precision. As we expand our project backlog, we’re adding an Estimator who wants real influence, real opportunity, and a seat at the table. What You’ll Do: • Lead mechanical estimates for ground-up, TI, healthcare, industrial, commercial, or mission-critical projects • Perform takeoffs for HVAC, piping, and plumbing systems using modern estimating tools • Develop detailed cost proposals, scope narratives, budgets, and VE options • Review plans, specs, RFIs, and addenda to assess scope gaps and reduce risk • Collaborate with PMs, operations, and preconstruction teams to ensure accuracy and handoff readiness • Build and maintain subcontractor/vendor relationships for competitive pricing • Participate in bid reviews, strategy sessions, and client presentations when needed What You Bring: • 5+ years of mechanical estimating experience (HVAC, plumbing, piping, sheet metal, or related trades) • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, installation methods, and construction sequencing • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, spec books, and engineering documents • Solid communication and the confidence to defend your numbers • Detail-oriented mindset with the ability to juggle multiple bids and deadlines What’s In It for You: • Competitive base salary up to $155K + bonus • Strong project pipeline with stable work year-round • A leadership team that listens and invests in its people • Opportunities for advancement into Senior Estimator or Preconstruction roles • A collaborative, no-ego culture that values expertise and accountability Ready to Make an Impact?
