Job Overview Under general direction of the Sr Risk Management Services Manager or Sr Enterprise Risk Management Manager, performs professional-level work associated with the design, development, and implementation of a comprehensive risk management program. Responsibilities for administering the Airport risk compliance process regarding insurance specifications to obtains documented evidence of insurance and communicate with internal and external stakeholders (contractors insurance brokers, agents, and representatives) regarding noncompliance and corresponding resolution to noncompliance issues. Performs the contract and vendor risk management analysis process, including and not limited to, reviewing indemnification language, insurance requirements, certificates of insurance and bonding requirements. What you will be doing: • Performs the contract and vendor risk management analysis process, including and not limited to, reviewing indemnification language, insurance requirements, certificates of insurance and bonding requirements. • Responsible for administering the Airport risk compliance process regarding insurance specifications to obtains documented evidence of insurance and communicate with internal and external stakeholders (contractors insurance brokers, agents, and representatives) regarding noncompliance and corresponding resolution to noncompliance issues. • Manages the recovery of costs for damage to Board property; coordinates and monitors claims management activities with stakeholders; supervises the claim administration of insured claims including conducting site visit and/or investigations with insurance adjusters. • Supports the analytics: trending of incident and claims to maintain the development of safety mgmt. training programs. • Analyzes and classifies risks and loss exposures from incident and claims reports to determine appropriate risk management technique and offers recommendations. • Manages and maintains the department’s Risk Management Information System [RMIS], including identifying improvements and enhancements to the system. • Delivers incident reporting and claims management best practices via the RMIS to: investigate circumstances, sequence of events, determine negligence, evaluate injury or damages, and negotiates settlements. • Supports Sr. Manager with project management and consulting services, including and not limited, development of project plans and timelines, evaluates and assesses probability and severity of potential and actual risk exposure and assists with the development and implementation of appropriate action plans. • Supports Risk Sr. management in the review and evaluation to offer recommendations on appropriate lines of insurance coverage (including commercial insurance), insurance limits and self-insured retention levels; Works with legal counsel handling claim exposures and preparation for litigation; Develops cost projections of desirable insurance coverage and cost benefit analysis of alternate insurance programs; Assists and supports in broker and/or carrier insurance negotiations; Analyzes underwriting data collected for insurance program renewal options; Coordinates timely renewal of insurance programs; Assists in the preparation of statistical analysis reports. • Supports AVP & Sr. Mgrs in directing the OCIP risk control program; performs identification, research, analysis, and evaluation of potential risk or loss exposure for current and potential future activities and operations; develops and implements safety and claims management protocols where appropriate and monitors their costs. • Assist in the preparation and development of reports for sr. management. • Communicates with diverse audiences to provide information and clarification regarding risk management programs, actions, policies and procedures. • Facilitates and provides training on risk management programs under the direction of Risk Sr. management. • Participates in emergency response and disaster recovery planning, documentation, exercises and communication; Actively support the execution of such plans. • Supports any ERM projects, under the direction of Sr. Manager ERM, to an assigned discipline or functional area of risk management. What you need: • Bachelor’s degree with major in Insurance, Finance, Accounting, Risk Management, or a related field. • Five (5) years of experience in risk control (safety, claim) and risk management • Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be substituted for the above. • Possession of a valid Class C driver’s license. Knowledge, skills and abilities • Ability to gather, analyze, and evaluate complex data from a wide variety of sources and develop concise related written conclusions and/or recommendations. • Knowledge of multiple lines of insurance and associated case law. • Knowledge of the Texas Tort Claims Act. • Knowledge with basic litigation rules, as related to service, timing, customary motions and other standard discovery tools. • Advanced skill in conducting investigations and required hearings. • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships at all levels, both within and outside the organization. • Ability to oversee the work of external consultants/partners outside agencies. • Ability to manage complex projects and prioritize resources in constrained environment. • Knowledge of implementing an effective Loss Prevention and Safety Training, Indoor Air Quality program, Hearing Conservation program, and methods of industrial hygiene. • Knowledge of safety-related inspection, investigation and code enforcement procedures and ability to apply statutory laws and regulations regarding public health and safety. • Knowledge of safety and environmental laws, regulations, and codes, including OSHA, Texas Hazard Communication Act, RCRA, SARA Title III, Clean Air Act, Texas Commission on Environmental Quality and hazardous waste handling. • Strong software skills using SharePoint, MS Project, Visio, Access, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. What we desire: • Master’s Degree • Professional designation as a Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Health Safety Professional (CHSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Texas Field Safety certification or other equally recognized loss prevention certification • One or more of the following industry certifications: Associate in Risk Management (ARM), Charter Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) or Certified Risk Management (CRM) or equivalent • Subject Matter Expert in developing safety management programs, incident and claim program, RMIS implementation and management • Ability to speak a language in addition to English. Special Requirement This is a designated essential employee position as defined in the Categories and Classifications of Employees Policy of the Airport Administrative Policy and Procedure. This is defined as an employee whose attendance is required to maintain airport operations during an emergency or inclement weather situation.
