What You’ll Do Summary: The Senior Project Manager (Sr. PM) is a senior operational leader within DFnet’s Biometrics organization, responsible for independently managing large, complex, or multi-country clinical research projects across Data Science, Biostatistics, and Data Management. The Senior Project Manager ensures high-quality delivery, regulatory compliance, financial accountability, and strong client satisfaction. This role provides leadership and mentorship to Team Leads (Data Management Team Leads and Data Science Client Leads), guiding project execution, resource planning, quality standards, and continuous improvement across the biometrics portfolio. The Senior Project Manager works closely with the Director of Biometrics to support operational strategy, client partnership growth, and organizational development. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Project Leadership & Oversight Leads end-to-end delivery of complex, multi-country clinical research studies and projects. Ensures project execution aligns with customer expectations, quality standards, timelines, budgets, and regulatory expectations. Drives accountability across cross-functional teams, including Data Management, Data Science, and Biostatistics. Collaborates across DFnet including Business Development, Product Management and Client Services/Operations. Collaboration with Team Leads Provides oversight and management of all projects, including implementing best practices, and team lead development. Ensures Team Leads adhere to quality expectations, timelines, and communication standards. Supports workload management, capacity planning, and alignment of resources across projects. Client Management & Communication Serves as the primary point of contact for new and existing clients in complex, strategic, or high-visibility client engagements. Manage client’s expectations, address escalations, and strengthen long-term relationships. Identifies opportunities for expanded services and collaborates with Business Development as needed. Project Planning & Execution Develops comprehensive project plans, risk registers, requirements, timelines, and performance metrics. Oversees project governance, status reporting, issue escalation, and documentation. Ensures project communication is accurate, timely, and aligned across all stakeholders. Financial Management Develops, manages, and monitors budgets for assigned projects. Ensures accurate forecasting and early identification of budget deviations. Supports Director of Biometrics with financial reviews and portfolio-level insights. Risk Management & Issue Resolution Proactively identifies risks across multi-national or high-complexity studies and develop mitigation strategies. Leads escalations and coordinates with internal leadership to ensure timely resolution. Supports continuous improvement initiatives to minimize operational risk. Compliance & Quality Oversight Ensures projects align with regulatory requirements and DFnet SOPs. Supports audit readiness, documentation quality, and process improvement. Promotes best practices in data quality, eClinical tool usage, and project governance. What You'll Bring Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Life Sciences, Public Health, Business Administration, Project Management, Data Science, or related fields. Minimum of 6 years of experience managing complex, international clinical research or health data projects. Demonstrated success leading multi-disciplinary project teams and high-complexity studies. Experience in regulatory and data privacy compliance (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA). Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills. Experience guiding or managing technical project teams (Data Management, Data Science, Biostatistics). Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in Life Sciences, Public Health, Business Administration, Project Management, Data Science, or related fields. Experience with DFdiscover, DFcollect, DFengage, or similar EDC platforms. Prior experience in LMIC settings and/or capacity-building initiatives. Advanced experience in risk management, technical documentation, and training coordination. Proficiency with modern collaboration tools and remote-work technologies. Strong organizational, prioritization, and time-management skills in a fast-changing environment. Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Working Conditions: Fully remote role with preference for availability overlapping with Africa, Asia, or CET time zones. Position requires a secure home workspace with reliable internet connectivity. Adherence to all DFnet security protocols, including password protection, data encryption, and regular software updates. Extended periods of computer use and virtual meetings are required. Travel may be required depending on project needs.
