We are actively seeking qualified candidates for the following position for our client, who is an industry leader: Job: IT Infrastructure Engineer Type: Short term contract Location: Houston TX (Remote) Job Description Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Enterprise Cloud & Security Engineer to manage and secure our hybrid IT environment spanning cloud platforms, network infrastructure, identity systems, and enterprise applications. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise across Azure, AWS, Cisco Meraki, and modern security platforms, with a strong focus on identity and access management. Key Responsibilities • Manage and support cloud environments (Azure & AWS) including provisioning, monitoring, and optimization • Administer and maintain Microsoft Exchange / Microsoft 365 environments • Configure and manage Cisco Meraki network infrastructure (LAN/WAN, firewalls, VPNs) • Implement and manage identity & access management solutions (Active Directory, Azure AD, Okta) • Support Zero Trust security frameworks using tools like Zscaler • Monitor and respond to threats using CrowdStrike or similar endpoint security platforms • Manage user access control, provisioning/de-provisioning, and role-based access • Ensure system security, compliance, and data protection across environments • Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure, network, and security issues • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support IT operations and projects • Maintain documentation and follow best practices for system configuration and security Required Skills & Experience • 4–8+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, cloud, and security roles • Strong hands-on experience with: • * Azure & AWS • Cisco Meraki (networking & firewall) • Active Directory & Azure AD • Microsoft Exchange / M365 • Experience with Okta (or similar IAM tools) • Exposure to Zscaler / Zero Trust architecture • Experience with endpoint security tools (CrowdStrike preferred) • Solid understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, VPN, DNS, firewalls) • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Good to Have • Certifications (any of the below): • * Azure / AWS certifications • Cisco (CCNA or equivalent) • Security certifications (Security+, CISSP, etc.) • Experience in hybrid environments • Knowledge of compliance frameworks (ISO, SOC2, etc.) Key Traits • Strong ownership and accountability • Ability to work across multiple technologies • Clear communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders Remote Skills: Access Control, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Best Practices, CCNA - Cisco Certified Network Associate, CISSP - Certified Information Systems Security Professional, Cisco Network Systems, Cloud Computing, Communication Skills, CompTIA Security+, Computer Security, Cross-Functional, DNS (Domain Name System), Documentation, Endpoint Security, Enterprise Applications, Enterprise Protection, Firewalls, ISO (International Organization for Standardization), Identify Issues, Identity Data Management, Information Technology & Information Systems, Information/Data Security (InfoSec), Leadership, Local Area Network (LAN), Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange Server, Microsoft Exchange Server Administration, Microsoft Product Family, Microsoft Windows Azure, Network Administration/Management, Network Security, Operational Support, Problem Solving Skills, Security Infrastructure, Software Engineering, Systems Administration/Management, TCP/IP (Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol), Technical Support, VPN (Virtual Private Network), Wide Area Network (WAN) About the Company: Dexter Technologies
