About the position Administrative support role for currently enrolled students. This is an off campus Federal Work Study Position. Community: Per Scholas is a national nonprofit that drives positive and proven social change in communities across the country. Through rigorous and tuition-free technology training and professional development, we prepare motivated and curious adults who are unemployed or underemployed for successful careers as IT professionals, and we create on-ramps for businesses in need of their talents. Today, we provide our solutions in seven cities across the country: Atlanta, GA; Greater Cincinnati, OH; Columbus, OH; Dallas, TX; the National Capital Region; Detroit, MI; and New York. To date, Per Scholas has trained over 7,500 individuals, helping them build lasting, life-changing skills and careers in technology. We believe our staff is the heart and soul of the organization. The Per Scholas New York Board, staff, and volunteers believe that a thriving workforce starts with equitable access to education. We provide skills, training, and access to employer networks for individuals who are often excluded from tech careers. Per Scholas envisions a technology workforce as diverse as the customers it serves. We periodically seek Professional Development student interns to join us, either as volunteers or as part of a school-funded arrangement. Responsibilities • Provide daily administrative support to the Director of Professional Development and the team. • Schedule and coordinate meetings, workshops, and calendars across multiple campuses and time zones. • Maintain organized digital files, documents, and shared drives. • Assist with preparing professional development materials, agendas, slide decks, and session resources. • Respond to internal and external inquiries with professionalism and timeliness. • Ensure accurate data entry, record-keeping, and reporting in Salesforce and Google Workspace. • Support planning, execution, and monitoring of professional development initiatives and events. • Track project timelines, deliverables, and milestones to ensure seamless operations. • Assist in cross-team coordination between Professional Development, Instruction, Career Services, and other departments. • Compile feedback, track outcomes, and assist in evaluating the effectiveness of programming. • Help create visually engaging content and communication assets using Canva (flyers, infographics, presentations). Requirements • Per Scholas, New York seeks a motivated undergraduate college junior or senior for an internship. • We welcome candidates who are flexible, energetic, and interested in working in the nonprofit sector and who possess a positive attitude. • Must be an enrolled student at DeVry University. • High School diploma or equivalent. • Must be a current student in good standing and possess a GPA of 2.0 or higher. • Must be enrolled in a minimum of six credits per semester. • FWS fund eligible. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Self-directed, motivated individuals. • People who sit around, waiting to be told what to do will not do well in this environment.
