Job Title Operations & Office Manager Company Detroit Charter Company Location Detroit, Michigan Remote-first with regular time at vessels, marinas, and waterfront locations Position Overview Detroit Charter Company operates a premium waterfront hospitality and charter platform in Detroit, managing a fleet of large sailing vessels and supporting on-the-water experiences for private, corporate, and event clients. We are seeking an Operations & Office Manager to serve as the operational backbone of the company. This is not a receptionist or bookkeeping role. This is a control-point position responsible for keeping vessels, crew, compliance, finances, and schedules aligned so day-to-day operations run smoothly. This role works closely with ownership and senior leadership and is critical to preventing operational breakdown in a multi-vessel, regulated environment. Marine Experience & Waterfront Environment This role operates in an active marine and waterfront environment. Prior boating-related experience—such as sailing, powerboating, marina operations, gas dock work, boat detailing, yacht clubs, or other on-water roles—is strongly preferred. Candidates should be comfortable working on and around the water and able to confidently connect with guests in a maritime setting. What You Will Do • Maintain the master operating schedule for all vessels and programs • Track USCG inspections, certificates, compliance requirements, and deadlines • Track crew credentials, certifications, drug testing programs, and training status • Coordinate crew schedules, rotations, and coverage • Track maintenance schedules, yard periods, refits, and service intervals • Track invoices, deposits, vendor balances, and outgoing payments • Maintain organized records for insurance, lenders, and regulatory review • Coordinate with leadership on regulatory and operational matters • Ensure systems, documentation, and workflows remain current and accurate What We Are Looking For • Experience in yacht management, charter operations, marina operations, hospitality operations, aviation operations, or other logistics-heavy, regulated environments • Strong organizational skills and consistent follow-through • Comfort working with compliance-driven assets and regulatory timelines • Ability to manage multiple parallel workstreams without dropping details • Calm, professional demeanor and confidence owning operational accountability • Strong written and verbal communication skills Work Schedule and Employment Type • Full-time position • Seasonal intensity with required availability during peak operating periods • Year-round responsibility for planning, compliance, and coordination Compensation • Base salary range of $70,000–$95,000, commensurate with experience • Performance-based bonus potential Professional Standards This is a senior operational role supporting client-facing marine operations. Professional judgment, discretion, and attention to detail are required at all times.
