Job Description: Merkle, a division of Dentsu, is seeking an Associate Director, User Experience to lead design strategy for a large manufacturer's website and complex product ecosystem. You'll focus on web design solutions that navigate multiple product types and manage thousands of product SKUs. This role requires systems thinking and strategic design expertise to manage complexity within a large cross-functional team. You'll apply Product Design, Service Design, and UX/UI skills to create intuitive experiences that help users navigate and understand a vast product catalog. Responsibilities Lead experience strategy for web design across a complex product ecosystem with multiple product categories Develop strategic recommendations for Navigation and information taxonomy, with the ability to create and run User Testing initiatives to inform your design decisions Manage design complexity for websites featuring multiple brands, thousands of product SKUs, and diverse target audiences (both B2B and B2C) Apply systems thinking to organize and present complex information architectures in user-friendly ways Collaborate with large cross-functional teams to align design vision with business and technical requirements Create design patterns and components that maintain consistency and reduce technical debt across multiple brand and product experiences Conduct user journeys to understand how customers navigate complex product ecosystems Partner with stakeholders to translate business requirements into strategic design solutions Qualifications: 7+ years of experience in user experience design, preferably with complex B2B or product-heavy websites Proven background in Product Design or Service Design with experience in large-scale, complex digital products Strong UX/UI hybrid skills with portfolio demonstrating solutions for complex information architecture Proven experience leading small design teams in a hybrid individual contributor and leadership capacity, able to manage other designers and collaborate with peers at the same level. Comfortable in client-facing roles, with strong communication and relationship-building skills. Experience designing for e-commerce, product catalogs, or B2B manufacturing environments preferred Demonstrated ability to work independently while collaborating across multiple stakeholders Experience in consultancy environments strongly preferred Familiarity with content management systems and large-scale web platforms Additional Information This is a contract engagement with potential to become temp-to-perm for the right candidate. This is a remote position. The hourly pay range for this position is $ 54.33 - $ 87.91. The hourly pay rate for the successful candidate is based on a variety of factors, including relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and other factors permitted by law. Temporary employees are eligible for paid holidays in accordance with dentsu policy, as well as safe and sick time. This position is not eligible for any other benefits or other compensation.
