Generate and submit dental claims, verify insurance eligibility, update patient accounts, monitor receivables, follow up on unpaid claims, and collaborate with dental staff to ensure accurate billing.
High school diploma or equivalent, experience in dental accounts receivable, proficiency with Denticon and Ortho Accounts Receivable software, and preferably a Real ID Certification as a Dental Billing Specialist.
Description: • Generate and submit accurate claims and invoices for dental services to insurance companies and patients. • Review and verify patient insurance eligibility and dental benefits. • Maintain and update patient accounts with payment details, insurance updates, and account adjustments • Monitor accounts receivable aging reports to identify overdue accounts and implement collection strategies. • Prepare and submit dental insurance claims electronically or via paper as required. • Follow up on unpaid claims and work with insurance companies to resolve disputes or discrepancies. • Communicate with patients to explain billing procedures, account balances, and payment options. • Address and resolve patient inquiries and complaints regarding their accounts. • Ensure all billing practices comply with federal and state regulations, including HIPAA. • Keep updated on changes in dental billing codes and insurance regulations. • Work closely with dental office staff, including dentists and hygienists, to ensure accuracy in billing and coding. • Collaborate with office management to improve billing processes and systems. Requirements: • High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree in accounting, business administration, or a related field preferred. • Previous experience in accounts receivable in a dental setting • Must have experience with Denticon. • Must have experience with Ortho Accounts Receivable. • Must have a Real ID Certification as a Dental Billing Specialist or similar credential is a plus.
