3+ campaign cycles experience, prior Operations Director or similar role on campaigns, budget management skills, knowledge of campaign finance laws, and ability to work onsite in Washington, DC.
Deputy National Operations Director The Deputy National Operations Director is responsible for working with state Operations Directors on coordinated campaigns to ensure that all operations needs are met. Additionally, the Deputy National Operations Director will serve as the intermediary between the DSCC and coordinated campaigns on budget management and operational best practices while overseeing the DSCC state transferdown process. The Deputy National Operations Director reports to the Deputy COO and works closely with the DSCC National Coordinated and Data Departments. Responsibilities: • Serve as a resource for Coordinated Operations Directors on coordinated campaigns supported by the DSCC. • Assist and provide support to coordinated campaigns in sourcing, screening and the hiring of operations staff across the country on coordinated campaigns. • Track coordinated budgets, serving as a primary resource to states in giving budget feedback and administering any budget changes. • Manage and oversee the DSCC transferdown process including the embed investment and exempt transfer downs while maintaining necessary state party relationships to ensure open lines of communication. • Special projects as needed for the DSCC. Qualifications • Previous experience as a coordinated campaign Operations Director or similar Operations role on a coordinated campaign. • 3+ cycles of experience working for an electoral campaign, advocacy organization, or firm. • General understanding of campaign-finance laws and other applicable federal and state regulations governing coordinated campaigns. • Experience managing a budget and monitoring cash flow, making the best use of all available funding sources. • Team player who knows how to work well with others on a dynamic and diverse staff while balancing numerous priorities. • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, while remaining detail-oriented and focused on meeting urgent deadlines, while operating independently and exercising discretion. • Proficiency in Google Sheets/Excel. Location: This position is a full time in-person position based in Washington, DC. Remote work is not an option for this position and will not be considered. The salary for this position is $120,000 annually.
