Overview Lead day-to-day activities of a team of CNC machinists. Position involves examining production schedules and deadlines and determining how to best schedule employees and activities to complete jobs safely and efficiently to meet the Company's requirements. NOTE: This position is available on 2nd shift only. Responsibilities • Responsible for the assignment and directing of daily activities of Team Members for production schedules, product quality, and troubleshooting. • The position will work closely with maintenance, quality assurance and scheduling to achieve targets for efficiency and quality. • Develop and maintain Team Member accountability for all issues pursuant to company policies and procedures. • Maintain housekeeping standards/5S. • Maintaining a safe working environment, while continually striving to improve safety awareness with associates, and enforcing safety regulations. • Maintain departmental discipline, enforce company policies, and monitor attendance for each employee. • Work with departmental leaders to train new employees and document the process as training progresses. • Communicate with other supervisors and departments as needed to maintain efficiency and keep product moving through plant • Lead by example, in work ethic, attendance, people skills, and general communication. • Prepare incident reports and investigate issues if an accident occurs within the plant. • Maintain production reports and records (Daily, Weekly, Quarterly). • Monitor and make recommendations to maintain and improve efficiencies while maintaining quality. • Inspect work using gauging and inspection equipment to verify conformance to specifications. • Work with operators, operations, and engineering to understand variation in process times, defining countermeasures to improve run times and material usage. • Other duties as assigned. Skills/Key Competencies • Collaboration • Initiative • Continuous Improvement • Problem Solving • Detail Oriented Qualifications • Three (3) years' experience as a CNC Lead/Supervisor, or other leadership role. • Knowledge of machines, parts, tooling, fixtures, materials and processes. • Proficient in understanding and operation of CNC Mills and Lathes. • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel. • Ability to inspect machined parts using a variety of inspection equipment. • Good verbal and written communication skills. • Able to read Blueprints. • Ability two work overtime if/when scheduled by the Company, including weekends.
