Delta Electronics Americas is a global provider of power and thermal management solutions. The Field Application Engineer will be responsible for the implementation of the Robot & Vision product category, providing technical support, and fostering relationships with key accounts to enhance the use of industrial robotics. Responsibilities • Technical support and project lead to named key accounts • Factory & RD Team liaison for use case scope discovery & offer alignment • Pre-sales support & expanding product portfolio usage at target key accounts • Deep understanding of the product and all its functions – become the GO-TO tech expert • Testing new product introductions (NPI) & systems to verify they perform to specifications • Supplying any issues/bugs/errors back to the R&D team • Develop product specs and competitive fight sheets • Pre-Sales application demonstration, design-in, test/POC, documentation • Post-Sales Trouble shooting product issues, validation, on-site and RMA/Rework Assistance • Support Sales team and Customers with product training • Support Email, Web, and Phone call service requests • Attend tradeshows and support technical conversations with potential customers • Assist Product Launch and define areas of product improvement for next gen • Work with Product Management and Marketing to make sure product documentation on web page, production selection site and supplied to customers is accurate • Develop Power Points for pitching sales scenarios • Increase application know-how, developing application notes for product and architecture • Application Champion & Collaboration with Global Solution Center for region growth • Success case harvesting • Product Pack or Kit Development & Test Skills • B.S.E. (EE or Mechatronics or Computer Science) & 0-1 years experience & Robotics related coursework or project work • Applies education and experience to professional concepts • Follows policies/procedures to resolve routine issues • Communication skills to resolve routine robotics & vision product technical support issues within company policies/procedures • Solves limited scope product related problems from detailed instructions • Experience with Power Electronics is required • Historically demonstrated technical capacity with a hands-on background in designing, installing, programming or testing of Robot & Vision Products & Systems • B.S.E. (EE or Mechatronics or Computer Science) & 1-3 years experience • Follows policies/procedures to resolve a variety of issues • Exercises professional judgement to determine appropriate actions • Solves moderate scope problems from general instructions • Experience with Power Electronics is required • Expanded level understanding of robotics & vision HW & SW products and machinery systems through education and hands-on experience • Knowledge and experience with some Industrial grade brands in the selected product category • Knowledge and experience in machine/factory/warehouse automation applications and use cases – related to selected product category such as: Pick-N-Place, Machine Tending, Automated Assembly, Conveyor Tracking, Collision avoidance, Vision guided Robotics, Palletizing, Path or Dispensing • Commercial savvy applying emotional intelligence to the customer scenario • Technical capacity & innate curiosity to understand the product and applications • Critical thinking with ability to understand customer needs, probe for answers, develop a proposed solution, and advocate that solution to the customer • Ability to work with customer and internal stakeholders on ensure all deliverables are met • Communicate to a team or customer and see the bigger picture of how your work will be used by others in the organization • Able to create proposal and comfortably present in front of groups • Build and Maintain relationship with key OEM/ODM customers to engage in early design-in opportunities • Self-starter and able to work independently • Take responsibility, being comfortable with making decisions, and taking ownership of the role • Maintain a high degree of technical knowledge: Collaborating with sales team, engineers, and product managers for obtaining accurate information of application usage, system operations, and product management • Staying up-to-date with industry and business: marketing trends, customer demographics, technical advances, and competition • Performing tests and installations: Preparing detailed schedule regarding the project specification, conducting research on market trends in field application, and analyzing the emerging trends for recommending the new application engineering products • Working closely with HQs and Factory in Asia to follow project status • Capacity to identify risks and raise issues to relevant stakeholders • Able to create steps necessary to achieve realistic results-oriented goals • Quick learner and flexible to adopt to company working culture and processes • Strong communication and organizational skills • Effective presentation skills • High proficiency with Microsoft office – Power Point, Excel, and Word • Detailed and results oriented with a strong sense of initiative in tackling tasks • Ability to manage multiple projects and activities at one time • Strong commitment to teamwork and the success of others • Develop and maintain relationships • Highly motivated self-starter with time management skills • Ability to adapt to Delta's unique and dynamic culture • Trustworthy and ethical • Mandarin speaking ability a plus • Able to travel out of state and country 20-50% Company Overview • Delta, founded in 1971, is a global leader in switching power supplies and thermal management products with a thriving portfolio of smart energy-saving systems and solutions in the fields of industrial automation, building automation, telecom power, data center infrastructure, EV charging, renewable energy, energy storage and display, to nurture the development of smart manufacturing and sustainable cities.
