Role: Design Manager About Decorus Home Staging Decorus Home Staging is a leading luxury staging and design firm serving high-end builders, developers, and top-producing real estate agents across Seattle and the Eastside. We transform extraordinary homes into powerful marketing assets that elevate brand positioning, inspire buyer desire, and accelerate successful sales. We are known for our curated design approach, distinctive reserve inventory, and in-house art studio where we custom-stretch, frame, and scale art to each home. Our work is not about filling space — it is about storytelling, brand alignment, and market strategy through design. At Decorus, excellence is our standard. We move fast, think critically, collaborate deeply, and deliver at a level that sets us apart in the luxury market. About the Design Manager Role As Design Manager, you will be the interior design expert clients are sold by and wowed by. You will be the leader who can immediately read a home — its architecture, aesthetic, and target buyer — and articulate a compelling vision for how Decorus will elevate its market presentation. You are not a decorator. You are a design leader and expert. You bring true mastery of interior design — with the ability to differentiate and design confidently across styles including: • Transitional • Modern • Post-modern • Young contemporary • Pacific Northwest • Wabi-Sabi • Elevated luxury and builder brand aesthetics You will shape and elevate design concepts, inspire our team, and ensure every project reflects Decorus’ signature level of sophistication, intentionality, and brand alignment. This role is ideal for someone who loves seeing great design come to life — working alongside a warehouse filled with timeless, high-end, and diverse furnishings — and collaborating with luxury builders, agents, and homeowners on the Eastside’s most prestigious properties. You will lead and develop the design department through clear processes, thoughtful handoffs, site visits, client walkthroughs, and strategic collaboration with our Business Development Manager, CEO, Lead Designer, Senior Designers, and our in-house art studio. You are collaborative, steady, and grounded — someone others genuinely enjoy working alongside. You bring strong leadership without ego, manage up with clarity, and welcome feedback as fuel for growth. You embody extreme ownership, honoring clear processes while remaining a deeply creative thinker who thrives in fast-paced, problem-solving environments. You lead by example in communication, follow-through, and professionalism, consistently earning trust through your reliability, judgment, and results. In this role, you’ll play a key role in: • Elevating Decorus’ design excellence and brand reputation • Leading and developing the design department with clarity and accountability • Ensuring seamless client experiences from concept to installation • Strengthening collaboration between design, logistics, and business development • Driving consistency, creativity, and craftsmanship across every project If you are motivated by impact, mastery, and meaningful work, this is where you will do the best work of your career. Operations & Execution • Complete detailed walkthrough forms, measurements, and project summaries • Organize photo documentation and project scope materials • Create mood boards, SOPs, and digital design assets in Canva • Schedule client walkthroughs and respond to inquiries same business day • Occasionally assist with high-end stage pulls when team capacity requires Requirements 1. Deep Interior Design Expertise (Non-Negotiable) • Formal education or equivalent professional mastery in interior design • Strong understanding of multiple design styles and market trends • Proven ability to translate architecture into elevated staging concepts 2. Leadership & Culture Fit • Humble, accountable, and team-oriented • Excellent communicator who leads by example in Slack and cross-team collaboration • Comfortable giving and receiving feedback • Thrives in a fast-paced, results-driven environment 3.
