Overview DecisionPoint seeks a Mid-Level Business Intelligence Analyst to support a Department of Defense (DoD) enterprise modernization effort enhancing the operational readiness and information management capabilities of U.S. Air Force and U.S. Navy Casualty and Mortuary Affairs (CMA) organizations. The analyst will collaborate with cross-service stakeholders to gather, validate, and translate operational and policy requirements into actionable data and process improvements. This position focuses on enabling accurate, timely, and interoperable information flow across systems and organizations that support casualty reporting, mortuary affairs, and benefits delivery. The role bridges mission expertise with analytical and technical acumen to help advance data-driven decision making within the USAF and Navy. This position is fully remote. Duties & Responsibilities The Business Intelligence Analyst, Mid. (USAF/Navy) will: Serve as a liaison between USAF and Navy CMA offices and the enterprise modernization team, ensuring stakeholder needs are clearly documented and addressed in functional designs. Conduct requirements-gathering sessions, interviews, and validation workshops to identify user needs, business processes, and data dependencies. Map current-state (As-Is) workflows and assist in designing future-state (To-Be) processes that improve accuracy, timeliness, and mission coordination. Develop and maintain requirements traceability documentation to ensure USAF and Navy functional needs are properly represented through design and deployment phases. Support the development and review of data models, interfaces, and integration points across joint Service systems supporting casualty and mortuary operations. Participate in stakeholder validation and user acceptance testing (UAT) activities to confirm functional alignment with mission and policy objectives. Contribute to data analysis and visualization efforts, helping to create dashboards or reporting products that improve situational awareness for leadership. Coordinate with analysts from other Services to promote standardization, data consistency, and interoperability across the joint operational environment. Document lessons learned and assist in refining business processes and reporting practices for continuous improvement. Qualifications Clearance Requirement: Must hold an active Secret clearance Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related discipline. Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in business analysis, requirements management, or stakeholder engagement supporting federal or defense programs. Prior experience with USAF or Navy human resources, casualty, or personnel operations is preferred. Technical Knowledge: Proficiency in requirements elicitation, workflow documentation, and stakeholder analysis using tools such as Microsoft Visio, Jira, or Confluence. Experience with Agile or iterative development environments. Familiarity with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau) for reporting and performance measurement. Understanding of DoD casualty, mortuary affairs, or benefits processes and related policy frameworks. Certifications (Preferred): Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or PMI Professional in Business Analysis (PMI-PBA). ITIL Foundation or Lean Six Sigma certification. Agile or Scrum certification. Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills to facilitate multi-stakeholder coordination. Excellent analytical and documentation skills with attention to detail. Ability to translate mission needs into structured, actionable requirements. Team-oriented mindset and adaptability within fast-paced, collaborative environments.
