Lead a multidisciplinary team to create innovative, accessible learning content that drives leadership behavior change and organizational growth while managing projects, budgets, and vendor relationships.
Proven leadership in learning content design and delivery, strong knowledge of learning technologies and standards, excellent communication and stakeholder skills, and familiarity with emerging learning tools and agile methodologies.
Description: • Lead and inspire a multidisciplinary team (instructional designers, graphic artists, and video producers) to produce cutting-edge learning content that influences leadership behaviours and accelerates organizational growth. • Champion and embed evidence-based learning design principles across all initiatives, promoting best practices and continuous innovation in instructional design within the team and organization. • Foster a culture of experimentation and continuous improvement, encouraging the development of innovative ideas and approaches in content creation; may include design sprint facilitation. • Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to identify learning needs and translate them into creative, effective solutions. • Provide creative direction and maintain brand and aesthetic consistency across customer-facing content. • Establish best practices for content development, incorporating emerging technologies and innovative formats to enhance learner engagement and impact. • Manage and optimize content infrastructure, including documentation of processes and systems that support scalability and quality. • Champion accessibility in learning content, ensuring all experiences are inclusive and compliant with relevant standards. • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to deliver high-quality content on schedule. • Stay informed of trends and advancements in learning and development, applying insights to guide team innovation. • Support professional growth within the team through coaching, mentorship, and development opportunities. • Oversee and manage relationships with external vendors to ensure the timely, cost-effective, and high-quality delivery of instructional design projects and learning solutions; define scopes of work and negotiate contracts. • Represent the organization as a thought leader by speaking at conferences, webinars, and industry forums. • Evaluate and implement new tools, platforms, and technologies to enhance learning outcomes and engagement; identify opportunities and drive improvements in workflows, tooling and AI automation/augmentation. • Lead change management initiatives to drive adoption of new tools, workflows, and operational models. • Define and track success metrics and continuously measure the effectiveness of programs and content; work with technology teams to streamline digital integration and content delivery. Requirements: • Proven experience leading teams responsible for designing and delivering innovative learning solutions within a learning and development environment. • Strong understanding of soft skills development and leadership training, with a focus on impactful behavioural change. • Demonstrated ability to foster creativity and innovation in content creation, leveraging new technologies and methodologies. • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills. • Familiarity with SCORM and XAPI delivery as well as wider learning eco-system (LMS, HCM, etc). • Familiarity with emerging standards and technologies in learning (LTI, AI, LXP platforms, etc.). • Ability to inspire a team to think creatively and challenge conventional approaches to learning. • Experience managing projects and resources effectively to meet strategic goals. • Preferred: Background in digital learning, multimedia content, or related fields. • Preferred: Experience working within agile environments applying agile methodologies to content development. • Preferred: Familiarity with emerging technologies such as AR/VR, gamification, and AI in learning. • Preferred: Hands-on approach (seek out the problems), while also empowering the team.
