Position: Group Sales Director (Independent Contractor) Location: Remote (U.S.-based, with travel to Barbados as required) Type: Full-Time, Independent Contractor About the Opportunity Our client, a luxury resort in Barbados, is seeking an experienced Group Sales Director to join as a full-time independent contractor. This individual will be responsible for driving revenue growth and expanding market share in the U.S., Canadian, and global group market segments. The ideal candidate will bring proven leadership in group sales, a strong network, and hands-on experience managing the full sales cycle for luxury or Caribbean resort properties. Key Responsibilities ● Develop and execute sales strategies to generate inbound group business from U.S., Canadian, and international markets. ● Build, maintain, and grow relationships with key group accounts and new prospects. ● Write proposals, negotiate group agreements, and oversee the contracting process in line with client guidelines. ● Conduct proactive sales calls, attend trade shows, sales blitzes, and networking events to maximize visibility and revenue. ● Deliver compelling presentations and host site visits, tours, and familiarization trips. ● Track production and trends of top accounts while developing strategies to maximize conversion. ● Collaborate with the Director of Sales & Marketing to align on market positioning and revenue objectives. ● Create group resumes and work with operations teams to ensure smooth execution and high customer satisfaction. ● Provide accurate and timely reporting, account updates, and pipeline management. ● Represent the resort in professional associations and industry events. Qualifications ● Minimum 4–5 years of experience as a Director of Group Sales (or equivalent senior sales leadership role). ● Demonstrated success in securing and growing group business for luxury hotels or resorts. ● Caribbean resort experience strongly preferred. ● Must be based in the United States, with the ability to travel to Barbados for key client visits, trade shows, and site inspections. ● Strong negotiation, presentation, and communication skills. ● Proven track record of exceeding sales targets and building long-term client relationships. ● Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently as an external contractor. Contract Details ● This is a full-time independent contractor position with exclusivity in representing the client’s property in Barbados. ● Travel expenses related to the role will be reimbursed, subject to prior approval and submission of receipts.
