Full Description

The Global Transportation Manager will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive transportation strategies to optimize our supply chain operations across international markets. This role requires a strategic thinker with deep expertise in global logistics, transportation regulations, and international trade within the automotive industry. This position will lead efforts to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance the customer experience through effective transportation management. PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: • Transportation Strategy Development: • Design and implement global transportation strategies aligned with business objectives. • Analyze market trends and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for innovation and efficiency improvements. • Writing and implementing global transportation management guideline and ensure implementation with regional logistics teams. • Operations Management: • Oversee the planning, monitoring and optimization of transportation operations, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery. • Manage local and regional escalations with the freight forwarders • Manage relationships with carriers, freight forwarders, and logistics service providers to ensure optimal performance and compliance with contractual obligations. • Cost Control and Optimization: • Analyze transportation costs, identify cost-saving opportunities, and implement measures to achieve budgetary goals. • As a member of sourcing committee, with indirect purchasing, negotiate contracts and rates with service providers to achieve competitive pricing. • Lead regional logistics teams with the collaboration of indirect purchasing teams to establish global and regional transportation contracts. • Compliance and Risk Management: • Ensure adherence to international transportation regulations, trade compliance, and safety standards. • Develop and implement risk management strategies to mitigate potential disruptions in the supply chain. • Team Leadership and Development: • Lead a direct report and mentor regional logistics transportation professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement. • Provide training and development opportunities to ensure team member have the skills and knowledge to succeed. • Performance Measurement and Reporting: • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and report on transportation performance. • Analyze data to identify trends, monitor service levels, and drive decision-making. • Consolidate global transportation spendings with financial controlling professionals, ensure necessary activities for budgeting processes. • Control and monitor global/ regional transportation contracts • Design and distribute monthly reports for transportation costs and current trends in order to develop a culture of awareness regarding global transportation market. Knowledge And Experience. • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or engineering • Logistics Transport Management (min. 8-10years) in Supply Chain, Transport Management System implementation experience in regional/global scope at Multinational Companies that operate in Automotive Industry (Preferred both OEM and Aftermarket experience). • Understanding of lean management principles. Data analytics and Decision making skills. • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with an eye on the details. • Be able to help logistics teams across company to correctly identify issues, determine root cause(s), and create sustainable solutions. • Posses excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to work up, down and across the organization.
