About the OpportunityFacilities Assistant | $58k annual salary, paid hourly; overtime eligible David Zwirner seeks a Facilities Assistant for immediate hire at its secondary market gallery, located at 537 West 20th Street. All candidates should be highly organized self-starters with a keen attention to detail and the ability to problem-solve.What you’ll do:Maintain the highest level of cleanliness and organization throughout all public and private spaces.Sweep and mop all exhibition spaces. Daily paint touch-ups and wall patching of exhibition spaces and offices.Maintain a clean sidewalk and facade.Monitor and change light bulbs as needed.Assist with building maintenance projects.Organize common spaces and work areas.Assist with maintenance of building systems.Occasionally assist in facilitating contractor scheduling and visits.Collect and dispose of daily trash and recycling.Order janitorial supplies.What we would like you to have:Relevant experience with light construction, custodial work, and general maintenanceAbility to handle a high volume of projects with accuracy and efficiency1-3 years of comparable experience, preferably at a commercial gallery or other art institutionStrong communication skillsMust be a proactive team playerWhat you will love about David Zwirner: David Zwirner has pioneered initiatives dedicated to the gallery’s long-standing commitment to kaleidoscopic storytelling, including: David Zwirner Online, David Zwirner Books, Dialogues, Utopia Editions, Consignments, and Program.Premier Access - to private on-site and off-site events, such as exhibition previews, book signings, talks, and walkthroughs with gallery artists and estate members, and external curators and scholars.Staff-driven projects and fundraising initiatives.
