The Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) is seeking an experienced, imaginative, and strategic museum professional to join our staff. Our Programs and Outreach Manager position will be responsible for the overall strategic direction of ticketed and free programs and outreach within our Museum, with a focus on fostering engagement with all visitors. The DAR Museum, located in the DAR’s Headquarters, collects, preserves, and interprets objects used and created in American homes. Using the lens of the varied interpretations of home, we inspire conversations about the diverse American experience, encouraging people to discover common ground. Our Museum offers a range of educational programming for all ages, including school programs, Girl Scout events, lectures, and events for the public. A successful candidate will be able to apply their experience to raise the public’s awareness of the museum through the expansive use of social media, plan a wide range of activities that highlights the Museum’s collection, and use analytics to adjust our programming as needed. Essential Functions: • Develops, implements, and evaluates long-range strategic plans for museum-wide programming for all ages. • Will lead cross-functional teams within the museum and other DAR offices to conceive, plan, and implement multi-year educational public programs for intergenerational audiences, scholars, DAR partners, and DAR members. • Establish and sustain relations with schools, universities, and other educational institutions, both locally and nationally. • Develop marketing materials to ensure successful event attendance. • Will drive a data-driven approach to program evaluation so that staff can support a continuous improvement of programmatic offerings. • Develop and execute social media strategies to increase reach and engagement across all digital media platforms. • Represent the DAR Museum at conferences and professional events. Reports to: Museum Director and Chief Curator Work Schedule: This is a full-time position, with some limited telework options available.
