Role: Mainframe DevOps Engineer Work Location: Remote Job Description: Mainframe DevOps Engineer / SCM Migration SME We are seeking an experienced Mainframe DevOps Engineer / SCM (DBB/Git/IDD) Subject Matter Expert to support large-scale application migration and modernization initiatives on IBM Z. This role focuses on converting legacy SCM tools (including CA Endevor) to IBM Dependency Based Build (DBB), Git, and IDz/IDD, building mainframe CI/CD pipelines, and enabling client teams through training and hands-on guidance. Key Responsibilitie: • Lead and execute SCM migration projects from CA Endevor and other legacy tools to DBB/Git/IDD. • Install, configure, troubleshoot, and optimize DBB/Git/IDD environments on z/OS. • Analyze, convert, and validate Endevor-managed applications. • Design, build, and debug mainframe CI/CD pipelines using Groovy, YAML, Git, and DBB. • Work hands-on with z/OS, JCL, COBOL, PL/I, and VSAM/QSAM during migrations. • Deliver technical training sessions and create detailed documentation for client teams. • Collaborate with IBM and client stakeholders to ensure successful modernization outcomes. Required Skills: • Strong background in z/OS, mainframe development, or systems programming. • Proven experience installing, migrating, and troubleshooting solutions on IBM Z. • Hands-on scripting experience with Groovy and YAML. • Strong Git expertise (repositories, branching strategies, merges) and CI/CD pipeline debugging. • Experience diagnosing and resolving DBB/Git/IDD conversion issues. • Excellent communication and customer-facing consulting skills.
