In this role, you will partner with product managers, engineering, design, and customer teams to build intuitive and scalable US payroll solutions aligned with Darwinbox’s product vision. Your expertise will shape payroll functionalities that address statutory compliance, multi-state taxation, wage calculations, garnishments, reporting, year-end processing, and the diverse operational needs of US enterprises. Responsibilities • Develop a deep understanding of US customer payroll requirements, compliance obligations, and operational workflows; identify product gaps and propose solutions that elevate the customer experience. • Translate US-specific payroll strategy into detailed product requirements, specifications, and prototypes. • Scope and prioritize product initiatives based on customer impact, regulatory needs, and business goals. • Collaborate closely with engineering to deliver timely, compliant, and high-impact payroll enhancements for the US market. • Serve as the primary subject matter expert on US payroll and support the marketing, sales, and customer success teams with product education and go-to-market messaging. • Ensure comprehensive understanding of federal and state payroll laws, multi-jurisdiction taxation, FLSA, ACA, wage & hour rules, PTO requirements, deductions, garnishments, benefits taxation, and year-end processes (W-2, 1099, etc.). • Partner with Customer Success to make informed trade-offs that balance technical feasibility with compliance and customer expectations. • Stay current with evolving US payroll regulations, labor laws, and compliance changes, translating these into proactive product updates. Requirements • A proven track record of managing all aspects of a product lifecycle—preferably within payroll, HR tech, or enterprise SaaS platforms between the range of 15 – 20 Years. • Mandatory deep expertise in US payroll, including multi-state payroll, federal/state/local taxation, statutory reporting, garnishments, and compliance. • Experience with enterprise-scale payroll systems or product-led payroll transformation initiatives. • Candidates with extensive US payroll domain expertise and strong product/tech orientation may apply even without prior product management experience. • Exposure to B2B SaaS products and cloud-based HR/payroll platforms is a strong advantage. • Strong understanding of UX/design principles as they apply to payroll workflows is preferred. • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
