Develop and maintain project schedules, coordinate contractor planning and reporting, analyze schedule risks and variances, and ensure compliance with project control standards.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field, experience in project controls with focus on planning and scheduling, proficiency with scheduling systems, and strong analytical and communication skills.
The Planning and Scheduling Engineer (PE) is responsible for developing, maintaining, monitoring, controlling, and integrating the overall Project Schedule and Progress Measurement System. This includes coordinating schedule control efforts across contractors and disciplines, ensuring schedule accuracy, evaluating project changes, and providing early identification and mitigation of delays or deviations. The PE is a key member of the Project Controls team, ensuring alignment with the Current Control Estimate and Work Breakdown Structure (WBS). • Develop, maintain, and steward the overall project schedule and progress measurement systems. • Review contractor schedules for logic, accuracy, level of detail, consistency with WBS and Project Plans. • Establish schedule deliverable requirements and issue frequencies for contractors. • Coordinate and monitor contractor planning, progress measurement, and reporting performance. • Analyze and incorporate approved changes into project schedules; report potential delays and recovery plans. • Advise Project Controls Lead and Planning Lead on schedule risks and corrective actions. • Verify and validate contractor progress reports and claimed progress. • Monitor trends and performance indicators, identifying variances from plan. • Review contractor project control procedures for compliance with company standards. • Analyze metrics for all project disciplines (piping, civil, electrical, etc.) and track actuals versus plan • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Construction Management required. • Progressive experience in Project Controls with strong focus on Planning and Scheduling. • Prior project experience (Cat III+ projects) and proficiency with XOM scheduling systems and standards. • Technical discipline certifications commensurate with experience (PMP, PSP a plus). • Strong analytical, computing, and data interpretation skills. • Excellent communication and consulting skills to interface with Contractors and Project Teams. • Ability to multi-task, adapt to changing priorities, and manage tight deadlines. • Willingness to relocate or work overseas as project needs require. • Must meet conditional job offer requirements including background check, drug test, MVR, and fit for duty/agility test.
