Edelman is seeking a Temporary Vice President, Health Media to lead earned media strategy and execution across health and wellness clients. This role provides senior-level media counsel, oversees integrated earned programs, and manages teams and budgets on sizable pieces of business to achieve client goals. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in earned media, strong national and local media relationships, and experience leading large-scale campaigns within the health and wellness space. Responsibilities • Lead the research, planning, and execution of comprehensive earned media programs • Provide strategic media counsel to clients and internal teams • Develop strategic media plans and oversee execution of program tactics • Manage earned media budgets and team resources across sizable accounts • Secure high-impact placements across TV, radio, print, digital, and online media • Build and maintain strong relationships with national and local media contacts • Oversee feature placements, interview coordination, and event media participation • Develop proactive story angles and contribute to creative platform development • Review and finalize media materials, press releases, plans, and client documents • Monitor media coverage and provide strategic analysis tied to client objectives • Partner with data teams to track and evaluate media performance • Participate in new business development, including proposals and pitches • Manage vendor relationships and production partners as needed • Lead, mentor, and develop junior team members Basic Qualifications • Minimum of eight (8) years of predominantly earned media experience Preferred Qualifications • Proven experience executing large-scale earned campaigns in the health and wellness space • Strong established relationships with local and national news media • Experience launching and promoting consumer products via earned media • Ability to write strategic media plans and media materials with limited oversight • Strong understanding of television production, video assets, and multimedia distribution • Experience managing media budgets and leading high-performing teams • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills • Demonstrated ability to manage complex client issues and provide strategic solutions • Experience supporting product launches, milestone announcements, media events, and desk-side briefings • High awareness of current events and media landscape shifts • Strong strategic thinking and business development mindset An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, travel requirements, revenue-based metrics, any contractual agreements, and business or organizational needs.
