Position: Director of Fund Accounting (Fully Remote – U.S. Based) Industry: Private Equity Compensation: Up to $220K Base + Bonus + Equity + Full Benefits A well-established and rapidly growing private equity investment firm is actively seeking an experienced Director of Fund Accounting to lead its internal fund accounting operations. This individual will serve as both a hands-on technical expert and a strategic partner—ensuring best-in-class financial reporting, team leadership, and operational efficiency. Role Overview: As the Director of Fund Accounting, you will: • Lead and manage a high-performing fund accounting team, ensuring timely and accurate preparation of financial statements and capital account activity. • Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes while maintaining rigorous compliance with GAAP and other industry standards. • Identify and implement process improvements, enhancing the efficiency and scalability of fund accounting operations. • Act as a mentor and coach, promoting a team culture centered around continuous improvement, accountability, and professional growth. • Serve as a strategic thought partner to senior leadership, offering insights to support decision-making and operational excellence. What You Bring: • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA strongly preferred • Minimum of 15 years of progressive fund accounting experience, ideally within private equity or alternative investments • Proven track record of managing and developing high-performing teams • Deep understanding of GAAP, fund financials, and partnership accounting • Excellent communication and leadership skills with a collaborative, solutions-oriented mindset This is a fully remote opportunity available to candidates residing within the United States.
