Inside the Role This position offers an outstanding opportunity to lead a regional field sales engineering team dedicated to continuous learning, development, and adaptation. The role oversees all sales support activities for Detroit-branded products and services within the Northeast Sales Region of the United States. As market demands shift, the Detroit organization remains responsive to change. Responsibilities will include strategic consultation, dealer training, truck driving demonstrations, and the promotion of advanced technologies such as Advanced Driver Assistance Systems. Success in this role is driven by exceptional collaboration and ongoing commitment to excellence. The team supports a comprehensive range of segments, including on-highway, vocational, heavy duty, and medium duty. We Take Care of Our Team What You Drive at DTNA Promote and facilitate sales of Detroit-branded products—including engines, transmissions, axles, safety systems, and connectivity solutions—within the assigned region (Northeast Sales Region U.S.). Provide consultative product recommendations, specifications, programming, and services that help customers optimize their operations, ensuring customers are fully informed on how to maximize value from our offerings. Support the creation, consistency, and accuracy of promotional materials, sales collateral, and driver training resources, establishing your team as a reliable partner for dealers, customers, and end users. Train, mentor, and support a regional team of Field Sales Engineers, focusing on continuous improvement and increased organizational effectiveness. Oversee the development of tools and processes to foster both personal and professional growth within the team, positioning the group as a pipeline for future field sales and service leadership. Monitor and manage regional sales activity to meet or exceed established product penetration targets and objectives. Serve as a Detroit brand ambassador and advocate for customer perspectives in engineering, marketing, and product strategy discussions, providing critical feedback for new product and feature enhancements. Cultivate relationships with major accounts and dealer groups in the region to support Field Sales Engineers’ efforts. Travel extensively within the designated territory (up to 75%). Knowledge You Should Bring Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college and 8 years of relevant industry experience Experience leading people, project or programs Demonstrated presentation skills and experience Proven ability to coach, mentor, and develop high-performing team Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite Current CDL or willingness to obtain one An attached resume is required Exceptional Candidates Might Have Previous management experience preferred. Experience in the automotive or commercial vehicle sector Field experience strongly desired Data analysis proficiency Knowledge of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems Familiarity with powertrain systems Battery Electric Vehicle expertise Experience in sales or training roles Where We Work This position is open to applicants who can work in (or relocate to) the following location(s)- Detroit, MI US, Fort Mill, SC US.
