Position Overview D/A Central is seeking an experienced Accounting Operations Manager to lead and oversee all accounting and financial operations within our organization. This is a senior leadership role critical to ensuring financial accuracy, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency in a project-based physical security integration environment. Reporting directly to the D/A Central President, this role serves as the Finance Lead for the Management Team and plays a key role in supporting strategic growth, cash flow management, tax compliance, and cross-departmental collaboration. The Accounting Operations Manager focuses on the logistical and operational execution of accounting processes to enable timely, data-driven decision-making and maintain the company’s financial health. Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership Team & Organizational Alignment • Serve as Finance Lead for the Management and Leadership Teams, aligning accounting operations with company objectives. • Actively participate in Leadership Team and Management Team (L10) meetings, providing financial insights, accountability, and performance metrics. • Develop and maintain financial scorecards tracking KPIs such as gross margins, cash flow, and project profitability. • Prepare and present weekly and monthly financial reports to senior leadership and the parent company. • Collaborate closely with the Director of Finance on parent-company integration initiatives, ensuring alignment of systems, processes, and reporting. • Support long-term strategic planning through financial modeling and accounting input on organizational design. • Contribute to company-wide initiatives, including budgeting and development of financial policies. • Maintain awareness of industry best practices, including revenue recognition for integration projects and cost management methodologies. Financial Operations & Accounting Leadership • Lead cash forecasting and liquidity planning, including scenario analysis and variance reporting. • Oversee revenue categorization and detailed Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) tracking for project-based revenue. • Execute, configure, and maintain accounting-related business process flows in Q360, serving as the subject matter expert for accounting processes across sales, project management, and procurement. • Ensure accurate project closeouts, including proper revenue recognition, cost allocation, service contract accounting, and profitability analysis. • Execute monthly accounting close processes, including reconciliations, accruals, and financial statement preparation. • Manage all tax reporting requirements, including sales/use tax, property tax compliance, and coordination with external auditors and tax advisors. • Oversee accounting for large clients, including invoicing, contract financial terms, and dispute resolution. • Lead the annual budgeting process, including development, monitoring, and variance analysis. Department Management & Team Leadership • Lead, mentor, and manage the Accounting team, including Accounts Receivable (A/R) and Accounts Payable (A/P). • Oversee daily accounting operations, collections, vendor payments, and workload distribution. • Develop and implement departmental policies, procedures, and internal controls. • Manage staffing, resource planning, and professional development for the accounting team. • Conduct regular team meetings, performance reviews, and training to promote accuracy, efficiency, and compliance. Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required). • Minimum of 7 years of senior-level experience in accounting, financial operations, or controllership. • Experience in a project-based industry (physical security, construction, integration, or similar) strongly preferred. • Proven experience managing and developing accounting teams. • Demonstrated success producing accurate, timely financial statements. • Proficiency with accounting and ERP systems (e.g., Q360, QuickBooks), tax compliance tools (e.g., Avalara), and advanced Excel. • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound financial judgment.
