Materials Manager Position Overview We're a leading fire and life safety solutions provider that designs and installs advanced protection systems for commercial and industrial facilities. The Materials Manager is responsible for overseeing the procurement, management, and distribution of materials for construction projects. This role ensures that all materials are sourced efficiently, delivered on time, and meet quality standards, ultimately supporting project timelines and budgets. Key Responsibilities • Manage the procurement and supply of materials for construction projects. • Coordinate and plan material schedules to ensure on-time delivery and optimal inventory levels. • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors to negotiate pricing and terms. • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards, including NFPA and other fire protection guidelines. • Oversee the creation and management of purchase orders and ensure accuracy in material specifications. • Monitor and analyze material costs and lead times to optimize purchasing processes. • Collaborate with project managers and construction teams to align material needs with project timelines. • Utilize Excel and Microsoft 365 for data management and reporting on material usage and inventory. • Implement process controls to improve efficiency in material handling and logistics. Qualifications • Associates's degree in Supply Chain Management, Construction Management, or a related field. • Proven experience in materials management within the construction industry. • Strong knowledge of fire protection materials and relevant compliance regulations. • Proficiency in purchasing processes and managing purchase orders. • Excellent Excel skills and familiarity with Microsoft 365 tools. • Strong organizational and planning skills with attention to detail.
