About the Role As the Sales Manager for Curio’s Independent Sales channel, you are a strategic, results-oriented leader, growing Curio’s presence within our boutique and specialty gift stores with local or regional presence, through partnership with sales agency rep groups. Success in this role requires a high degree of relationship building, follow-up, analytical thinking, leveraging data insights to identify trends, and forecast performance to drive strategic account growth. You have deep experience in consumer goods, a strong understanding of luxury boutique retail operations, and a proven track record of driving sales, building relationships, and executing account strategies through sales agency partnership This role is critical to advancing our independent retail footprint, delivering revenue growth, and ensuring excellence in execution across the channel. This position is the liaison and partner to our sales rep agencies and is an exciting opportunity to work with nationally renowned and industry leading partners, such as Ivystone, Harper Group, and Goetz. • **This role is for candidates who reside within 60 miles of the Minneapolis office*** What You’ll Do Independent Channel Management: • Develop and lead the execution of the annual Independent Channel Sales Plan, ensuring alignment with Curio’s strategic priorities and revenue goals across categories and regions. • Build and activate channel-specific growth levers (e.g., promotions, sampling strategies, new business programs) that enable sustained account expansion. • Maintain proactive, structured communication with sales reps to drive monthly and annual performance. This role influences outcomes through relationship management, analytics, and virtual communication rather than in-person sales calls. • Collaborate with rep group principals and regional managers to translate Curio strategies into field execution. • Partner with Demand Planning and Brand teams to develop the channel forecasts and inventory requirements. Review weekly/bi-weekly route-to-rep reports and follow up on outstanding opportunities, ensuring timely closure of open orders. Sales Representative and Independent Retailer Liaison: • Provide clear, consistent leadership and communication to rep teams, ensuring they have the information, tools, and direction needed to maximize productivity. • Represent the Curio brands at sales meetings, tradeshows, and through ongoing communication channels, ensuring alignment to brand standards and sales initiatives. • Serve as the first escalation point for feedback originating from the Sales Operations and Customer Experience teams, resolving issues that extend beyond frontline support. • Gather and share market insights, competitive intelligence, and field feedback to inform Curio’s decision-making and strategy. • Build and sustain strong relationships with Sales Representatives, Rep Group Sales Managers and Rep Group Principals. Sales Representative Training & Education: • Partner with Marketing and Sales Operations to implement and monitor training program for both new and tenured Sales Representatives and retail partners. Facilitate training delivery, including virtual sessions and periodic in-market seminars, to equip representatives with the knowledge and confidence needed to drive new and existing product growth. Collaborate with Marketing to develop launch training, ongoing collection education, and supporting materials that elevate channel execution. Independent Retail Communication Tools: • Oversee and evolve the tools and forums used to support the Independent Channel, including CURiObrands.com, core sales materials, and written training resources. Work with Brand and Customer Operations teams to ensure timely, accurate, and action-oriented communication is distributed to Review, Analyze, & Optimize Sales Activity: • Analyze sales trends, customer performance, and account-level data to identify opportunities and inform action plans. • Use data analytics and sales reporting to uncover opportunities within existing accounts, drive retention, and maximize revenue per retailer. Leverage analytics tools to drive account retention, revenue maximization, and improved productivity across rep groups. • Monitor and align shipment expectations within the weekly Flash Force planning meeting supportive monthly quarterly and annual delivery goals. • Partner with Sales Operations, Senior Management, and IT to develop or refine reporting that improves visibility, decision-making, and channel performance. • Perform monthly review and reconciliation of rep group commissions report. What You Bring Qualifications: • 4+ years of sales experience within luxury home goods, preferably within boutique or specialty retail channels. • Demonstrated success growing retail accounts through data-driven analysis, forecasting, and strategic planning. • Strong negotiation skills and experience with trade promotion planning and retail marketing programs. • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and presentation capabilities. • High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with expertise in Excel; familiarity with Power BI or similar tools for tracking and analyzing performance. Preferred: • Experience with home fragrance, beauty, or lifestyle categories. • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field.
