HCCS Teacher (Elementary School) - Hunter College Elementary School, Classroom Teacher, Grades K-6- REOPENED GENERAL DUTIES Hunter College Elementary School, a grade K-6 school for intellectually gifted students, seeks an Elementary School Teacher. In additional to classroom teaching duties, he/she works collaboratively with specialist teachers, administrators, and other learning professionals, maintains communications with parents and guardians, and performs related duties. CONTRACT TITLE HCCS Teacher FLSA Exempt CAMPUS SPECIFIC INFORMATION Classroom Teacher, Grades K-6 Hunter College Elementary School, a grade K-6 school for intellectually gifted students, seeks an Elementary School Teacher that: • Teaches general curriculum in a classroom setting • Works collaboratively with specialist teachers, administrators, and other learning professionals • Maintains communications with parents and guardians • Performs related duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree with elementary school teaching experience; Master's degree and New York State K-6 certification is preferred and required within the first four years of employment. OTHER QUALIFICATIONS Preferred: Experience in teaching in diverse schools; experience in developing curriculum content that relates to multiple perspectives; demonstrated multicultural competency and ability to build strong relationships with students from a variety of backgrounds; demonstrated commitment to building and sustaining an inclusive community. COMPENSATION Hunter College Campus Schools follow the salary guidelines of the New York City Department of Education. Salary commensurate with academic accomplishments and experience ($61,070 - $128,657). BENEFITS CUNY offers a comprehensive benefits package to employees and eligible dependents based on job title and classification. Employees are also offered pension and Tax-Deferred Savings Plans. Part-time employees must meet a weekly or semester work hour criteria to be eligible for health benefits. Health benefits are also extended to retirees who meet the eligibility criteria.
