Salary: $20.00 Hourly Location : Fullerton, CA Job Type: Part-time Job Number: 03643 Department: Research Grant Employees Opening Date: 10/17/2025 Closing Date: 10/20/2025 11:59 PM Pacific The Stem Cell Program Coordinator will assist with two CIRM-funded, internship programs at CSUF. These programs are BSCR and COMPASS. The two primary roles of the Stem Cell Program Coordinator for both programs are to (1) collect and distribute accurate details for various forms and plans, and (2) monitor, track and follow-up as needed for various activities (these two themes show up throughout the detailed list of activities). Overall, the position requires strong organization, deadline management, and clear communication to ensure students are funded, trained, and can start their internships on time. • Please be aware that funding for this position is awarded through a Grant/Contract over a specified period. Employment for this position beyond current Grant/Contract funding is contingent upon continued funding or new Grant/Contract. Essential Duties • The Stem Cell Program Coordinator role is a program management position focused on keeping the CIRM-funded Bridges to Stem Cell Research (BSCR) and COMPASS programs running smoothly. • Gathers and shares important details, tracks progress, and follows up to make sure students, CSUF offices and partnering institutions meet critical deadlines. • Routine activities include checking email accounts, organizing files, tracking progress of various tasks, and updating shared tracking sheets. • Facilitates community building by staying in touch with current, past and prospective students. • Keeps the students updated on the planned activities, work and events. • Helps prepare official agreements (MOUs) with partnering internship sites for the two programs. • Collect, verify, and submit stipend and appointment forms to ensure students are paid and officially listed on the CIRM portal. Also, manage end-of-internship forms and evaluations. • Assist with enrollment of students in both programs for both spring and fall semesters. • Update program application, organize interviews, and helps launch the new cohort by confirming agreements, registering students, and ensuring training requirements are met. • Financial responsibilities include payments to students, internship sites, and vendors while keeping track of reimbursements and contracts. • Organize the two annual stem cell symposia and one seminar per semester. The Program Coordinator will schedule room reservations, coordinate advertising materials, print interns' posters, coordinate catering, and payment of guest honoraria. • Assist students and faculty with conference registration, completion of travel agreement forms, travel plans, hotel reservations, and reimbursement paperwork. • Collect and compile data for the annual reports. • If the Coordinator has adequate biology training, then they may choose to assist with courses required by the CIRM funded programs. • Other duties as assigned. Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: • Minimum two (2) years of biology research experience. • Clearly documentable team management experience. EDUCATION: • Minimum bachelor's degree in Biology. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Prolonged sitting in front of computer. Listening and talking for extended periods. May have to carry 10-15 pounds of course materials.
