Crown Staffing is currently seeking experienced Injection Molding Machine Operators to fill openings with a local Manufacturing company in Kansas City, MO. Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Plastic Injection and Blow Molding Machine Operator with hands-on experience in HDPE processing, 2-step stretch blow molding, and injection molding. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, monitoring, and troubleshooting plastic molding machines to produce high-quality plastic parts and containers according to specifications. Key Responsibilities: ● Set up and operate injection molding and blow molding machines, including two- step stretch blow molding equipment. ● Load raw materials (e.g., HDPE preforms) into hoppers and ensure uninterrupted machine operation. ● Adjust machine settings such as temperature, pressure, and cycle times for optimal production efficiency and product quality. ● Perform mold changes, machine start-up, and shut-down procedures. ● Conduct quality inspections on finished products for dimensions, appearance, and functional integrity. ● Monitor equipment for signs of wear, malfunction, or misalignment and perform basic maintenance or repairs. ● Maintain accurate production records, including downtime, scrap, and material usage. ● Comply with safety standards, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and company SOPs. ● Assist with troubleshooting molding issues such as flash, short shots, warping, or bottle defects (e.g., ovality, stress cracks). ● Work with engineering and quality teams to optimize production processes and implement continuous improvements. ● Keep work area clean and organized in accordance with 5S practices. Qualifications & Skills: ● 2–5 years of hands-on experience operating HDPE blow molding machines, 2-step stretch blow molding (SBM) systems (such as Nissei ASB, Sidel, or similar), and injection molding machines (e.g., Engel, Husky). ● Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot and resolve machine issues. ● Understanding of plastics processing, particularly HDPE, PET, and PP. ● Familiarity with quality control procedures and tools (calipers, gauges, etc.). ● Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, production orders, and safety documentation. Physical Requirements: ● Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in a manufacturing environment with moderate noise and heat. ● Willingness to work rotating shifts, weekends, or overtime as required. Preferred Experience: ● Experience with 2-step SBM machines (preform reheating and stretch-blow processes). ● Working knowledge of mold setup, robotic part removal, and automation systems. ● Preventive maintenance experience or minor repair skills. ● Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus in some facilities.
