We have completed projects in 26 states and are expanding our footprint in the Chicagoland area. We deliver high-quality workmanship, smart project phasing, and an exceptional client experience across corporate, retail, industrial, education, hospitality, entertainment, multifamily, and specialized environments—such as Bowling alleys, auditoriums, bathrooms, ADA upgrades, and more—while also completing approximately 10% residential remodel projects annually. Position Summary The Project Manager oversees all aspects of commercial interior construction projects, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, on budget, and to Crown’s quality standards. This role manages multi-trade scopes (flooring, tile, paint, millwork, demo, GC tasks) and works closely with the Site Supervisor, Project Coordinator, Estimators, and Ownership. Key Responsibilities Project Execution & Leadership • Lead projects from kickoff to completion. • Build and manage project schedules + phasing plans. • Direct daily coordination with field teams and subcontractors. • Perform site walks to validate layout, prep, sequencing, and quality. • PM schedule is heavily project driven Client Management • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned projects. • Provide updates on schedule, issues, and cost impacts. • Maintain strong relationships and drive repeat business. Financial & Contract Control • Review estimates and scopes during handoff. • Manage budgets, POs, cost tracking, and change orders. • Protect margin through planning and risk mitigation. Documentation & Workflow • Own RFIs, submittals, meeting notes, and project files. • Ensure close-out packages, warranties, and punch lists are completed. • Work with the office team to maintain accurate logs and documentation. Team Coordination • Collaborate with Site Supervisor for field operations. • Coordinate with Project Coordinator for deliveries and communication. • Support Estimators with clarifications and hand-off alignment. Qualifications Required: • 5+ years managing commercial construction or interiors projects • Strong understanding of interior trade sequencing (tile, flooring, paint, demo, millwork) • Ability to read architectural drawings and specifications • Experience managing budgets, schedules, and subcontractors • Strong communication and leadership skills • Proficient in project management software and Excel • Valid driver’s license + ability to visit sites regularly Preferred: • Experience with Schluter/Kerdi systems, moisture mitigation, floor prep • Experience in occupied remodels or multi-phased interior projects • Background with subcontractor or GC environments Compensation • Salary: $75,000 • Mileage reimbursement or vehicle allowance • PTO + paid holidays • Health insurance + 401(k)
