Role Overview: As an ElasticSearch Engineer III on the Data Services team, you will play a critical role in advancing our database systems and data plane services. This hands-on position requires a highly technical engineer passionate about working with ElasticSearch, Opensearch, Cassandra, and other data technologies to enhance performance, scalability, and reliability. What You'll Do: - You will design, implement, and optimize ElasticSearch and Opensearch clusters to support large-scale data ingestion and querying. - You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data services with other platform components. - You will troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to database performance, availability, and data integrity. - You will develop automation tools and monitoring solutions to improve system reliability and operational efficiency. - You will participate in capacity planning and scaling strategies to meet growing data demands. - You will contribute to the design and implementation of data storage architectures using Cassandra and other technologies. - You will mentor junior engineers and share best practices within the team. - You will stay current with emerging technologies and recommend improvements to our data infrastructure. What You Bring: - 5+ years of experience working with ElasticSearch or Opensearch in production environments. - Strong expertise in distributed database systems such as Cassandra. - Proficiency in scripting and automation using languages like Python, Bash, or similar. - Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker). - Solid understanding of data indexing, search algorithms, and query optimization. - Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a remote setting. Bonus Points If You Have: - Experience with security-focused data platforms or cybersecurity industry knowledge. - Familiarity with other NoSQL databases and big data technologies. - Contributions to open-source ElasticSearch or related projects. - Advanced certifications in cloud or database technologies.
