Students complete their academic work in two concentrated hours using AI-driven platforms. The remainder of their day focuses on something just as important: interactive workshops designed to build life skills, curiosity, and self-assurance. Your responsibility is to maintain momentum and ensure seamless operations. You'll guide students through transitions, facilitate engagement in small group settings, and provide encouragement when motivation dips. You won't deliver academic instruction, but your presence will be critical to ensuring every session operates flawlessly. What You Will Be Doing • Facilitating live virtual workshops by coordinating breakout rooms, managing transitions, and overseeing group activities • Encouraging student participation and motivation through chat interactions, recognition, and one-on-one engagement • Keeping students focused, confident, and connected throughout their learning sessions • Supporting lead educators with operational logistics that ensure workshops flow seamlessly • Serving as a culture champion and reliable presence within student clubs and life skills programming What You Won’t Be Doing • Delivering academic instruction or teaching subject-matter content • Developing lesson plans or evaluating student work • Building curriculum or facilitating workshops independently • Observing passively—this role demands active involvement and high energy Virtual Learning Assistant Key Responsibilities Facilitate dynamic, virtual learning environments by ensuring students remain engaged, organized, and motivated across all workshop sessions. Basic Requirements • Available to work 8am - 5pm Monday through Friday US Mountain Time (UTC-7) • Minimum of 3 years of experience in mentoring, coaching, tutoring, or youth leadership • Educational experience in US, Canadian, or UK school systems (K-16) - must have attended school in one of these countries (current residence can be anywhere) • Excellent communication abilities and strong familiarity with digital platforms • Dynamic, student-centered presence with attention to detail and skill in managing smooth transitions Nice-to-have Requirements • Familiarity with online learning platforms or youth development programs • Experience in after-school programming, summer camps, or club coordination About Unbound Academy Unbound Academy is Arizona’s first virtual, tuition-free charter school, designed to make grades 4-8 limitless, personal, and exciting. Working with us This is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $20 USD/hour, which equates to $40,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
