CrossFit is looking to hire a Social Media Editor contractor for six (6) months. We are looking for a highly creative and skilled Social Media Video Editor Contractor to join our social media team to produce platform-optimized video content for our social media channels. You will be responsible for editing and adapting footage into engaging, dynamic short-form videos for Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, X, and Facebook, supporting storytelling across the CrossFit ecosystem. In addition to organic content, this role will also be responsible for creating short-form assets tailored for paid social media advertising (e.g., Meta ads, YouTube pre-rolls, TikTok ads). While you won’t be running or monitoring the campaigns themselves, you’ll work closely with marketing stakeholders to design high-performing creative assets optimized for ad performance. This role requires a deep understanding of social trends, storytelling, CrossFit, and platform-specific best practices. RESPONSIBILITIES: • Edit and deliver high-impact short-form video content daily/weekly for social media platforms. • Create engaging short-form video assets specifically designed for use in paid social media advertising. • Collaborate with producers, shooters, and strategists to develop creative concepts. • Curate and repurpose existing footage (competition, training, interviews, community stories) into fresh, socially optimized edits. • Maintain consistency in tone, style, and brand across all CrossFit verticals. • Apply graphics, captions, sound design, and effects that elevate engagement. • Keep a pulse on social trends and integrate timely, relevant storytelling. • Balance fast turnaround times with high production value. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: • Bachelor’s degree in Film/Media Production, Communications, or a related field. • 2–4 years of experience editing short-form digital video for brands or media outlets. • Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro (or similar NLEs); After Effects a plus. • Deep knowledge of Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and Facebook Video formats. • Ability to distill stories quickly and creatively for social audiences. • Strong sense of pacing, music selection, and narrative clarity. • Comfort working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, remote but collaborative environment.
