Responsibilities Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable software applications that support Crisis Text Line’s mission to provide mental health support. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver new features and enhancements. Maintain and improve existing codebases to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and security. Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers to maintain high-quality standards. Analyze and resolve technical issues, bugs, and performance bottlenecks promptly. Implement best practices in software engineering, including documentation, testing, and automation. Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes and tools to enhance team efficiency. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Proficiency in modern programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, or similar. Experience with web application frameworks and building scalable backend services. Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, containers, and deployment pipelines. Familiarity with database design and optimization using SQL and NoSQL databases. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team. Passion for social impact and understanding of the importance of mental health support technologies.
