About the Role: Role for the new hire is to take on responsibilities to support customer facing applications and build internal admin application for Insurance industry for use by the operations team. The current application is in legacy tech. stack and one of the main goals is migrating to standard Credible tech. stack for maintainability and scalability Responsibilities: • Backend monitoring and support of the customer-facing application where customers fill out their home and auto profiles to request quotes • Migrate the current architecture from backend written in Scala to Ruby and consolidate/eliminate services for easier maintenance • Support post-deployment fallouts on projects worked on and released to production • Determine operational feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development, and proposed solutions • Cross-team collaboration in driving the end-to-end delivery of Insurance quotes • Participating in the code reviews and design discussions with other engineers • Have a strong sense of end-to-end ownership • Adhere to key principles: Code and design for best performance, scalability and resiliency • Participate in Agile planning and standup meetings • Participates in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing and certification of software • Develop Front End services with React / Node JS and Typescript with some backend integrations using Ruby / GraphQL endpoints • Be a self-starter, capable of solving ambiguous and challenging technical problems with wide scope • Deliver trustworthy solutions for engineers allowing them to focus on experimentation, evolution, and delivery of high-quality features • Collaborate cross-functionally with data scientists, business users, project managers and other engineers to achieve elegant solutions • Backend development including design, documentation, implementation, and testing • Work alongside other engineers on the team to elevate technology and consistently apply best practices. Requirements: • BS Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent experience • Understand data structure concepts • 2-3 years of software development experience (from customer requirements -> functional spec -> design -> development/testing -> deployment and monitoring); • Strong interpersonal and communication skills • 2+ years of experience building scalable, maintainable, production-quality services at cloud-scale with AWS platform • Use tools and methodologies to create representations of workflows, user interfaces, data schemas, etc; • Solid understanding of software design and development • Experience with third-party libraries and APIs • Experience building AI/ML solutions to real problems • Ability to solve problems that span multiple interconnected systems / microservices • Excellent design and problem-solving skills. Technical skills • Front End (Required) - React.js, Node.js, TypeScript, Next.js, Express.js (a plus) • Knowledge / Experience with Java - a plus • Infrastructure knowledge - AWS: Codebuild, ECS, ECR, Lamda, Secret Manager, Kafka / Kubernetes, CloudFormation, Cloud Watch • Back End (A plus) - Ruby and GraphQL Credible is open to hiring candidates in the following locations: California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay ranges for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location, are listed below. This role is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents.
