Job Title: Learning Experience Design Manager Location: Remote, 10% domestic travel Department: Learning & Development Reports to: VP, People and Organizational Development Role Type: Full-Time We’re seeking a strategic and operational Learning Experience Design Manager to lead our L&D team. This role will oversee day-to-day operations, coach and develop Learning Experience Designers, review and elevate design work, manage client communications, and partner on strategic initiatives. The ideal candidate combines expertise in learning science, curriculum design, and user experience with strong leadership and project management skills, and is also a hands-on creative designer, actively contributing to the design and development of learning solutions alongside the team. Core Responsibilities: Team Leadership & Coaching: • Lead, mentor, and coach a team of Learning Experience Designers, fostering professional growth and collaboration. • Conduct regular work reviews, provide constructive feedback, and support ongoing development. • Actively contribute as a creative designer, bringing visual storytelling, branding, and innovative design thinking to learning solutions and team projects. Operational Management: • Oversee daily operations of the L&D team, ensuring projects are delivered on time and to quality standards. • Manage resource allocation, workflow, and process improvements. Client Communications: • Collaborate closely with the Client Partner team for client communications, ensuring alignment between client needs and team deliverables. • Facilitate stakeholder meetings, needs analyses, and project updates. Strategic Partnership: • Collaborate with the VP and other leaders to align learning initiatives with business goals. • Contribute to strategic planning, innovation, and continuous improvement of learning solutions. • Review and approve learning experience designs (eLearning, ILT, blended, microlearning, performance support). • Ensure application of learning science, UX principles, and visual design standards. Cross-Functional Collaboration: • Partner with Accounts, Creative, and Production teams to deliver cohesive, high-impact learning products. Qualifications: • Proven experience in instructional design and team leadership within L&D. • Deep knowledge of learning theories, instructional design models, and adult learning principles. • Strong coaching, feedback, and people development skills. • Excellent project management and organizational skills. • Exceptional communication and client relationship management abilities. • Experience with eLearning authoring tools, LMS platforms, and innovative learning technologies. • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or related field; advanced degree preferred. • Remote work experience and ability to lead a distributed team.
