Scrum Master - Freelance Duration: 6 months with potential to extend Hours: Open to either 5 days @ 40 hours per week OR 4 days @ 32 hours per week Location: Boston, MA - 4 days on site Rate Range: $60-$70 per hour Reporting Line: Reports directly to the IT Director Interview Process: 1-2 rounds of interviews, each about 45-minutes Overview Our client, a large insurance company, is looking for a seasoned Scrum Master to support a growing digital team building a new platform for international insurance product sales. This newly created role will focus on coaching Agile best practices across three Scrum teams that are early in their Agile journey. Key Responsibilities • Coach and mentor three Scrum teams on Agile principles and best practices • Facilitate daily standups, sprint retrospectives, and backlog refinement sessions • Partner with Tech Leads, Product Managers, and Business Analysts to drive Agile maturity • Help define foundational processes for Scrum Master operations across teams • Communicate effectively with leadership and cross-functional stakeholders • Assist in the transition from DevOps to Jira (Jira experience is a plus) Team Structure • Each team includes: Tech Lead, Product Manager, Business Analyst, 1-2 Software Engineers, and 2-3 QA professionals • Teams operate on 3-week sprint cycles • Majority of the team is onsite in Boston; onsite presence is strongly preferred Qualifications • Scrum certification or equivalent Agile training • Demonstrated experience coaching teams new to Agile • Strong facilitation, communication, and change management skills • Experience in modern digital or tech-forward environments is a plus In this position, you may have access to client or customer systems, confidential and/or proprietary information or data, including financial information.
