Lead and manage production teams to optimize manufacturing processes, ensure on-time delivery, maintain quality standards, and drive continuous improvement in luxury window and door systems manufacturing.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or manufacturing, 15+ years production/operations management experience, expertise in fenestration production, ERP systems (Netsuite), lean manufacturing, and aluminum manufacturing processes.
Base Salary $125-150k(negotiable) Production Manager Lead and manage a team of 20+ employees in the manufacturing of luxury window and door systems. Oversee engineer-to-order (ETO) and order-to-build (OTB) manufacturing processes, ensuring smooth operations despite product variations. Focus on planning production flow and maintain on-time delivery. Optimize production schedules. Capacity planning of equipment, tooling, and personnel to ensure production efficiency. Develop and manage production schedules based on customer orders, product specifications, and material availability. Review custom order requirements and coordinate with procurement, Project Management and manufacturing teams to ensure feasibility and alignment. Monitor production progress and proactively adjust plans to address delays, shortages, or changes in demand. Maintain close communication with the purchasing, inventory and project management departments to provide accurate lead times and order status updates. Ensure all planning activities align with quality standards, delivery timelines, and cost objectives. Use Netsuite as an ERP/MRP systems to plan, track, and optimize production workflows. Identify process bottlenecks and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency in custom production. Analyze shop drawings and work instructions, making recommendations for manufacturability improvements including outsourced manufacturing processes. Apply lean manufacturing principles, efficiency methods, and Six Sigma tools to enhance workflow and reduce waste. Ongoing collaboration and communication with cross functional departments from project management over to purchasing and installation to guarantee on-time delivery. Ensure compliance with AAMA and NFRC procedures and certifications. Use quality metrics and root cause analysis to drive continuous improvement in product quality. Implement corrective actions to address quality issues and enhance process reliability. Drive cost reduction efforts by improving labor efficiency, optimizing material use, and enhancing design for manufacturability. Monitor labor hours, overtime, and staffing levels, implementing improvement plans as needed. Work closely with engineering, R&D, and supply chain teams to resolve production challenges and refine processes. Maintain strong safety practices, ensuring an injury-free workplace and maintaining compliance with OSHA regulations. Essential Qualifications and Skills Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or manufacturing field. Minimum of 15 years in production or operations management required. Experienced in fenestration production. Highly experienced in production planning. Highly experienced in using ERP systems ideally Netsuite. Experience monitoring, tracking and continually improving total cost equation. Experience with applying lean manufacturing principles and efficiency methods required. A technical understanding and practical knowledge of aluminum manufacturing processes including CNC machining and assembly. Experience bringing together teams and processes from development to production. Demonstrated experience and ability to read, interpret and follow blueprints or mechanical drawings. Proven success in leading teams in a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment. Ability to troubleshoot and optimize machining, fabrication, and assembly processes. Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to adapt to evolving production demands. Effective communication and collaboration across all levels of an organization, from shop floor workers to executives. Experience in luxury fenestration and door systems production preferred. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred to effectively communicate with diverse production teams. Able to adapt to changing work assignments and fast paced work environment. ,
