Develop and oversee transportation security programs, conduct risk assessments, manage security personnel, and ensure compliance with regulations.
Bachelor's in Criminal Justice, Security Management, or related field, 5+ years in transportation security or logistics, knowledge of security regulations, management experience, relevant certifications preferred.
Essential Job Functions • Develop and implement security policies and procedures for Crane WW transportation operations. • Develop and implement security policies and procedures for transportation and/or high risk/theft attractive cargo. • Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability analyses for transportation routes, facilities, and assets. • Oversee security personnel, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management. • Monitor compliance with local, state, federal, and industry security regulations (e.g., TSA, DOT, TAPA, CTPAT). • Coordinate with law enforcement, regulatory agencies, and emergency responders as needed. Investigate security incidents, thefts, and breaches; prepare incident reports, after[1]action reports, and recommend corrective actions. • Coordinate with relevant personal on access control systems, surveillance equipment, and physical security measures at transportation facilities. • Lead security awareness and training programs for drivers, staff, and contractors. • Develop and maintain emergency response plans and conduct regular drills. • Analyze security data and trends to identify opportunities for improvement. • Prepare and present security reports to senior management. • Collaborate with operations, safety, and risk management teams to ensure integrated security solutions. • Oversee contractor and vendor compliance with security requirements. • Other duties as assigned Physical Requirements • Ability to travel to transportation sites and facilities as needed. • Extended periods of standing, walking, and occasional lifting. • Use of computers and standard office equipment. Education & Experience • Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, Transportation, or related field preferred. • 5+ years of experience in transportation security, logistics, or related field. • Strong knowledge of transportation security regulations and best practices. • Experience managing security teams and programs. • Excellent communication, leadership, and analytical skills. • Proficiency with security technology (CCTV, access control, GPS tracking). • Ability to respond effectively to emergencies and incidents. • Experience with cargo/transportation theft investigations preferred. • Relevant certifications (e.g., CPP, PSP, TAPA) preferred. Other Skills and Abilities • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and time management abilities. • Demonstrated initiative, good judgment, and ability to achieve results through others. Knowledge and expertise in project/program management and portfolio management methodologies and tools. Ability to strategically plan over a 12–24 month time span, strong client orientation, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
