They are seeking a dynamic and driven Director of Client Relations/Business Development to lead their Mid-Atlantic practice, strengthen client relationships, and drive revenue growth across the region. Position Summary The Director of Client Relations/Business Development will serve as both a relationship leader and business developer for the Mid-Atlantic practice. This role is ideal for a professional with Big 4 or 2nd tier public accounting experience who is ready to transition from technical accounting into a business development and client leadership role. The Director will be responsible for cultivating and expanding client relationships, developing new business opportunities, and ensuring the successful delivery of client engagements. Key Responsibilities • Provide leadership and oversight of the Mid-Atlantic practice, including strategy development and execution for regional growth. • Develop and implement business development strategies and tactics to expand market presence and achieve revenue and profitability goals. • Build, cultivate, and strengthen long-term client relationships through frequent communication, networking, and on-site visits. • Generate new business opportunities by identifying target clients, attending networking events, and engaging with financial executives, business owners, and partners (PE, IB, etc.). • Qualify, scope, and close new client engagements by deeply understanding client businesses and industries, identifying solutions, and negotiating terms. • Ensure superior client service delivery and proactive account management. • Mentor, coach, and provide growth opportunities for professional staff. • Play an active role in professional recruiting, including interviewing candidates and managing relationships with external recruiting agencies. Qualifications • Required: Public accounting or public accounting business development experience (Big 4 or 2nd tier preferred). • 10+ years of progressive experience in client relations, business development, or financial advisory services. • Proven track record of driving business growth, building client relationships, and achieving revenue targets. • Strong leadership and team development skills, with experience mentoring professional staff. • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. • Established network of business contacts in the Mid-Atlantic region a strong plus.
