3-5 years supervisory experience, knowledge of FMCSA/DOT regulations, ability to manage 24/7 dispatch operations, strong communication and organizational skills, and basic computer proficiency including MS Office.
This position is On-Site based in Hamilton, OH, and the person must live within a reasonable commute distance. CPC Logistics is seeking a Transportation/Dispatch Supervisor to supervise its Dispatch department. He/she will be responsible for ensuring the Dispatch department maintains effective daily communication with drivers, continually monitors service making proactive adjustments to maximize on time performance and productivity; demonstrate effective use of Transportation Management System – TMW and other communication tools. Job Responsibilities: • Manages and coordinates the daily work of the assigned dispatch team from planning through execution. • Manage drivers and equipment to ensure schedules are met, on-time pickup and delivery is achieved. • Serve as the first point of contact for escalation of all on-route issues. • Monitor real time call flow, inbound dispatcher availability, service levels and other critical call statistics to ensure calls are answered in a timely manner and abandon calls are minimized. • Provide coaching and training to the dispatch team when required. • Ensure that dispatch personnel are effectively performing all procedures & functions for driver dispatch, driver and customer issue support & resolution, incident/accident, etc. Monitor the responses to support requests and ensure appropriate prioritization as directed by Management. • Communicate with Management as needed to maximize efficiency and resolve issues. • · Involved in the process of interviewing applicants for their direct report positions. • Involved in the performance review of direct reports, making recommendations regarding promotions and disciplinary action including discharge. • Maintain a professional demeanor and appearance. • Ensure overall compliance with various office policies such as: use of electronic devices, phone compliance, meal breaks and attendance. Qualifications: • At least three (3) to five (5) years’ successful supervisory experience preferred. • Knowledge of FMCSA / DOT regulations, laws and reporting requirements. • Ability to multi-task while managing a 24/7 dispatch operation. • Ability to effectively lead a diverse group of individuals to successfully achieve the goals of the Dispatch Department. • Strong customer service skills and communication skills. • Ability to work independently and follow directions. • Ability to adapt and remain flexible in a dynamic environment. • Excellent organizational, written and oral communication, and time management skills. • Basic computer skills including MS Office products.
