We are currently seeking a Verification Pharmacist for our Closed Door Pharmacy. This position will utilize his/her skills and experiences to uphold pharmacy standards for reviewing prescriptions, dispensing, record keeping and quality assurance programs. A pharmacist will be able to demonstrate leadership by coaching and mentoring pharmacy team members. Responsibilities: • Review and interpret veterinarian orders and prescriptions for appropriateness to ensure that overdoses or under-doses have not been prescribed and that interactions, incompatibilities or toxic compounds will not result from combination of medications. • Manages prescription work flow process, correcting internal and external errors, obtaining prescription documentation, and documenting patient profiles • Will verify prescriptions to pets in accordance with policy and in conformance with regulations and laws dealing with the class of prescription; counsels’ patients (pet owners) about their medications and maintains an accurate, up to date profile. • Verify the work performed by support personnel, which includes pet drug data entry. • The ability to focus on tasks and quickly complete them is important to being efficient in this role. • Ability to use multiple data entry systems, knowledge of prescription prescribing, and multitask between job functions. • Familiarity with pharmaceutical calculations and compounded preparations is preferred. Requirements: • Veterinary Compounding experience preferred. • Experience with PCAB accreditation preferred. • Position requires a minimum of a bachelor's degree in pharmacy and a current Pharmacist license in good standing. • Multiple state licenses preferred.
