Manage insurance product profit and loss, coordinate product delivery and compliance, liaise with actuarial and regulatory teams, conduct market research, and support IT initiatives.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Math or similar, 3+ years personal lines insurance product experience, strong analytical skills, proficiency in Excel and MS Office, and familiarity with insurance pricing and regulations.
Location: Remote, United States (Cincinnati, Ohio recommended) Description: The Insurance Product Analyst manages and is responsible for the profit and loss of their assigned line of business. Reporting to VP of Insurance, this role will oversee and coordinate all aspects of the product ensuring activities are properly aligned with company goals, values, and strategies. They manage results through appropriate rate levels, product design, development and implementation, rating segmentation, profile management and marketplace positioning. Roles and Responsibilities: 1. Provide timely, quality, compliant delivery of our products to agents, markets and carrier partners 2. Ability to work on complex problems / projects where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of multiple factors 3. Help plan state review schedules and determine and approve the state’s rate need in order to maintain profitability 4. Serve as the liaison with external actuarial and regulatory team members 5. Serve as key communicator with Agents, Actuary, Marketing, Sales and Underwriting and other interested parties for buy in on product reviews 6. Interpret and implement countrywide product direction for a particular state within line of business 7. Work with Underwriting to set the direction and tone of the Underwriting Guidelines 8. Support market business readiness 9. Answer line-of-business questions, DOI objections, and manage premium waivers 10. Facilitate the development of policy contract language 11. Extract and compile data from various sources to perform analysis and effectively communicate findings to internal and external stakeholders 12. Conduct market research and monitor emerging risks and trends for identifying profitable growth opportunities 13. Participate in account reviews and audits 14. Perform accurate and detailed compilation of all rates, rules, forms, and support for the purpose of filing with the individual state regulatory bodies 15. Support the review, approval, implementation, and communication of product changes and ensure accurate implementation and compliance with statutory regulations 16. Provide support in IT projects and initiatives as needed 17. Effective time management skills 18. Effective oral and written communication skills 19. Ability to validate data by utilizing multiple sources Required Technical Skills: 1. Strong analytical abilities including understanding of advanced mathematics and statistical concepts 2. Three or more years of experience maintaining personal lines insurance products 3. Strong command of Excel and MS Office Suite applications 4. General understanding of Pricing Segmentation, State Regulations, Reinsurance, Policy Contract Language, Product Management and Underwriting 5. Proven ability to lead, innovate and make decisions in order to foster and develop more advanced techniques as appropriate 6. Strong command of Willis Tower Watson’s Radar Base product (recommended) 7. Familiarity with SQL or PowerBI (recommended) 8. Knowledge regarding manufactured housing insurance (recommended) Education, Certifications & Designations: 1. Bachelor’s Degree Business in Finance, Math, Statistics or similar field 2. CPCU (Recommended)
