Senior JavaScript AI Engineer – Platform Team (Full Stack) Department: Engineering Employment Type: Full Time Location: Remote Compensation: $90,000 - $125,000 / year Description Join Coursedog’s Platform team to architect and deliver the AI platform powering Intelligent Academic Operations. You will design the orchestration pipelines, developer tooling, and AI integration frameworks that enable product pods across Scheduling, Curriculum, Catalog, and beyond to rapidly build and ship AI-powered capabilities. This is a full-stack, enablement-focused role — your work won’t just ship features directly, it will multiply the velocity and impact of every engineering team. Key Responsibilities AI Agents Capabilities – Lead the development of cutting-edge solutions for multi-agent orchestration, tool-use integration, and retrieval-augmented generation. AI Platform Development – Build and maintain reusable AI services, SDKs, APIs, and best practices to support cross-team AI initiatives. Developer Experience – Provide developer tooling and documentation so product teams can easily integrate AI features into their modules. Orchestration & Observability – Implement robust orchestration pipelines and for monitoring at scale. We use LangSmith. Full-Stack Engineering – Build backend APIs in Node.js and deliver reference frontends in Vue to demonstrate and validate platform capabilities. Collaboration & Mentorship – Partner with product pod engineers to guide AI adoption best practices, debug integration issues, and promote platform consistency. Architecture Leadership – Influence system design for scalability, performance, and maintainability across multiple product lines. Skills Knowledge and Expertise Required Skills & Experience At least 6 years of relevant software engineering experience. Highly proficient in TypeScript/JavaScript, with strong backend expertise in Node.js and REST API design. Experienced in designing and deploying Agentic AI systems, including multi-agent orchestration, tool integrations, and autonomous workflows. We use LangGraph. Hands-on experience with AI orchestration and lifecycle tools (we use Langsmith). Ability to design frameworks and tooling that abstract complexity and empower other teams. Solid understanding of document, relation and vector databases (MongoDB, PostgreSQL, pgvector). Experience building modern SPAs. We use Vue 3. Proven track record in GenAI systems development and deployment at scale. Nice-to-Haves Familiarity with higher education domain workflows (e.g., academic scheduling, curriculum management). Experience with observability platforms (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry). Contributions to internal developer platforms or shared infrastructure projects.
